The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system Chapter 55

On the morning of the next day, Caishen and Alix dropped Xiaobo off to school together. From the school, they went to the hospital directly to see an orthopedist.

Caishen would not let her go in alone, he went with her because her review was important to him.

Like a hawk with a prey in sight, he watched the doctor examine and put Alix through a number of tests.

The doctor smiled, thinking that Caishen was such a doting husband who had followed his wife to such a simple examination.

He loudly asked questions, ensuring that the doting husband would be able to hear.

Alix answered his questions, albeit vaguely because she had no logical explanation for the type of medication that had healed her. She claimed it was traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture.

"Wow, it's amazing to know that our traditional medicine has come this far. If I did not see this for myself I would not believe it just by looking at your previous reports and the x-rays of your fingers today.

What is the name of the hospital you went to?"

In his opinion as a doctor who had treated thousands of patients with bone issues her recovery should have been impossible especially because the injury was over ten years old.

Her fingers had been fractured and they failed to heal.

The doctor looked at her eagerly. If she named the hospital he would go there immediately and see this miracle doctor for himself.

"I don't remember it's name, I don't even think it was a hospital." she said.

The doctor frowned and twisted his mouth unhappily.

"What about the name of the doctor who treated you?" he asked her

Once more, Alix shook her head. "I don't know, he said he was the barefoot doctor who only cured those he had a destiny with."

She gave this answer with a straight face, not a hint of a joke to be seen.

The doctor's face fell flat in shock at the implausible explanation she had just given.

Even Caishen was appalled but amused at the same time. The sheer audacity with which she gave that answer was beyond his understanding.

A barefoot doctor who cured those he had a destiny with!!! she had watched too many fantasy movies. It could not be novels, she only read music related books.

The right side corner of his mouth tilted upwards in a smile. He even felt sorry for the doctor who had been shocked into speechlessness.

"Doctor, can I go now?" Alix asked him.

"Oh, oooh, oh." The doctor replied, absentmindedly.

Alix hoped up from a chair like a bunny, ready to leave. Caishen was not so ready because he had something else to ask.

"Doesn't she need to do any exercises to strengthen her grip or anything? I noticed that she has tremors in her hands sometimes."

He had noticed it right from the beginning, her hand shook if she used it grip something tightly or when she carried something heavy with two hands. At times, she even winced and massaged it.

It was also pale, lighter than her right hand but that he attributed to her wearing a glove for so many years,

Alix looked at him in surprise. When did he notice that? When he said he needed to keep an eye on her hand he was not joking.

"Err, this is a list of recommended exercises." The doctor typed a few words into his computer and then printed out a paper and handed it to Caishen.

"If she still feels pain I recommend letting the hand rest in some ice water for two minutes."

Caishen nodded and opened his mouth.

"She is a composer so she plays piano and violin. Is there a different set of finger exercises that you recommend."

The doctor smiled and pointed to Caishen.

"Miss, you really have a good husband." he said.

The wife was all but ready to go and yet the husband was consulting even more as if he was the patient.

"Yes." Alix smiled and smiled shyly.

She rocked herself back and forth slowly, taking care not to fall down and make a fool of herself.

He likes me, he definitely like me, she thought.

They left the examination room shortly after that. Caishen was holding the papers given by the doctor in his hands while Alix skipped alongside humming cheerfully.

"Try not to look so happy, we are in a hospital." he reminded her.

He had spent his fair share of time in the hospital, and he always found it distasteful that healthy people could laugh boisterously, ignorant of the pain of others around them.

This place, it was not a place of joy for most. It was the physical representation of their disease and pain.

They had just passed by a few people cradling broken bones, arms, a neck and other body parts. One man had a whole missing leg which had been amputated.

Caishen lowered his hand into the coat of his pocket and patted baby's fur. He really hated hospitals.

"En." she replied and she stopped with the little skips and the humming. The smile however stayed.

As they were about to take the elevator, he saw a flower shop and continued in that direction.

Alix, the two bodyguards and one newly hired assistant that was supposed to help her out followed him.

He ordered for a bouquet of flowers, a mixture of lilies and roses.

The young woman working in the gift and flower shop came out from behind the counter to hand them over personally.

Caishen without observing them much gave them to Alix.

She, who was stunned almost let the flower basket slip out of her hands.

On the side of the flowers was a card reading, "Congratulations mommy."

"Aha-ha."

She laughed softly. Did he see the card or he simply ordered without taking a proper look?

The gift shop on this floor was between the orthopedics section and the obstetrics and gynecology section of the hospital.

All of these flowers and gifts were packaged to appeal to expectant mothers or new born mothers. It was not a random flower shop on the street.

"Congratulations Mr. and Mrs." The young woman with a big smile on her face said to them.

"No, no, no, that is not necessary." Alix answered strongly. "It's not what you think."

The young woman acted as if she had no ears. Turning to Caishen she pointed to the other gifts in the shop and said, "Sir, we have other gifts here if you want to bring a smile to your wife's face."
