Three figures sequentially passed through the grass, rapidly advancing to the foot of the mountain.
"This guy is really loaded..."
Mu You looked at the World Walker running away in the distance, the corner of his eye twitching slightly.
He and Shadow Wolf had been tormenting this guy all the way, using all kinds of methods. But this guy seemed to have a link to Doraemon’s magical pocket, whenever they tried to seize him, he would always throw out something outrageous like scrolls, potions, tools... and occasionally he would even summon some creatures.
Although most of these were one-time use items, their power was not to be underestimated. Moreover, many had controlling effects and Mu You and Shadow Wolf occasionally had to stop and avoid their force.
Add to that, the two had to always guard against letting the opponent make any actions that could easily lead to his death, like flying into the sky and getting torn apart by the spatial air currents. As a result, they always had to hold back some strength, which led to them chasing and fighting all the way here without finding the chance to subdue him.
Just as the three had reached a few hundred meters from Skull Mountain, they observed the fog ahead rolling about. From the fog, faint collision sounds could be heard, it was clear that someone was approaching them.
The World Walker’s eyes lit up, it seemed as though his saviour had finally arrived. He hurriedly threw a scroll behind him and amidst the violent magnetic storm, he quickly ran off towards the front.
"Red Sleeve, it must be Red Sleeve... it has to be Red Sleeve..."
The World Walker chanted like a prayer.
When he reached the edge of the fog, a figure appeared from it.
The figure was wearing a familiar large red cloak, though half his face was concealed with a coarse cloth. However, there was no doubt that it was Red Sleeve!
The World Walker was immediately filled with joy.
As he had expected, Red Sleeve had obtained the legacy, which meant there was a chance for a counter-attack now!
Yet, before he could call out for help, he saw Red Sleeve running towards him in confusion and fear. As soon as she saw him, she shouted out, "Brother Nan, run!"
The World Walker was dumbfounded. He had not expected that Red Sleeve’s first message to him would be to tell him to run... Could it be that she had not obtained the Grim Reaper’s legacy?
Just as he was pondering this, he heard a deep growl from behind him and the ground began to shudder. It was as if a prehistoric beast was emerging from the fog.
Soon, a massive figure became visible through the fog: a twenty-meter-tall skeleton giant. Its ’flesh’ was formed from dark blue energy, shaping the body of a giant. Holding a scythe in its hand, it marched towards them.
The World Walker quickly understood what was going on: Red Sleeve had indeed failed to obtain the legacy, or at least, she had only obtained a small part of it. He noticed the giant’s missing left arm.
Mu You and Shadow Wolf arrived at the scene. They were somewhat taken aback by the sight of the giant’s figure in the distance.
The figure at the heart of the giant was obviously Lin Xue. As Mu You got a clear look at Lin Xue’s face, he instantly noticed something unusual.
"What’s wrong with her eyes?"
"Red Sleeve, hurry, kill me!"
On the other side, having assessed the situation, the World Walker quickly turned to Red Sleeve, hurriedly making this request.
Not having obtained the Grim Reaper’s legacy, they now had no chance in a direct fight. Their only hope was for him to regain his time-stop ability, which would give them a chance to escape unscathed.
Red Sleeve was still somewhat unclear about the situation. Hearing such a request, she was taken aback.
"Kill me! Can’t you understand that?"
The World Walker was now desperate. He wanted to explain at the fastest pace possible, but time was running out.
Accompanied by a wave of powerful pressure, the giant’s scythe lifted above, prepared to strike their position.
Red Sleeve instinctively pushed the World Walker aside, and quickly raised her arm. An image of the giant’s arm rapidly appeared on her own arm and clashed with the giant’s descending strike.
Although both of the giant arms were split from the same body, there was a huge difference in their sizes. The impact was like striking a stone with an egg; the giant stood steady while Red Sleeve was flung far away.
Upon seeing the fight start, Mu You and Shadow Wolf immediately wanted to step in but were stopped by Vivian.
"She’s unstable now, if you go over, you’d only distract her. Let her handle it."
The two shared a look and reluctantly halted.
Meanwhile, as the World Walker was getting up, he suddenly felt an overwhelming pressure envelop him, making him shiver.
Turning his head mechanically, he saw the giant’s eyes had locked onto him, advancing step by step towards him.
While the World Walker wasn’t afraid of death now and was unimpressed by any regular force, the Grim Reaper’s legacy was not ’ordinary’. This power could reap souls...
If his soul were to die, he would lose any chance of revival, let alone regaining his time-stop ability.
The World Walker quickly gathered all the attack items he could find from his possessions, flung them all behind him and without looking back, he turned around and ran as fast as he could.
The continuous sound of explosions rang out from behind him, but the tools hitting the skeleton giant were as insignificant as scratching an itch, they didn’t create any waves of disturbance and didn’t delay it even by a second.
