Jin walked into the precinct, slightly annoyed that he wasn’t able to gather more information from the person who was spying on him. Thankfully, he was able to register the way she used her powers, so his suit would pick it up if she used her power close to him.
"Hey, Jin, you good? You’re looking kind of down." A woman asked.
"Yeah, I’m good. Hey, is Yuria here?"
"Yuria? Yeah, she’s in the office over there."
"Sweet. Thanks." Jin walked over to the office, knocking on the door.
"Enter."
"Yo. How’s it going?"
"Hey, Jin. How was your weekend? I bet you missed working with us, huh?"
"Heh, nah. I wish today were the weekend as well. But that doesn’t matter because I have some important news to share with you."
Yuria leaned back in his chair. "How important?"
"I learned about a shit ton of the brotherhood. And Mrs Adeline allowed me to share the information I learn with the police."
Yuria nearly fell back in her chair, teleporting onto her feet to avoid hurting herself. "W-What did you learn? And how did you obtain this information?"
"I snuck into her company and stole files."
"YOU WHAT!?"
"Don’t worry, I had the help of her daughter."
"That doesn’t make it any better!"
"Sure it does. Where’s detective Karen?" Jin asked
"She’s in the other room. Follow me." She dragged him to the other room, bursting inside.
"Karen! We got the information!"
Karen nearly jumped out of her seat. "Why are you breaking down my door?"
"Jin found out what’s going on with the Brotherhood Gang!"
"What?!" Karen lept out of her seat. "Tell me everything!"
Jin explained what he learned and showed him the proof of it as well, including the recording of Viper.
"This...this is way beyond our clearance. This is something the Military or Aegis Corps should handle." Karen was glad they got a bigger picture, but after learning what was in that picture, she didn’t think it was right for the police to handle this matter, especially since the device was related to a military project.
"We can at least arrest this engineer to make sure he doesn’t harm anyone again. Oh, and figure out where his mother lives so we can see if she’s doing well."
Yuria felt bad for the mother. She didn’t like the feeling of having her power dampened, so she couldn’t imagine losing her power forever.
"Jin. Want to go arrest this guy?" Yuria asked
"Yeah. Though I think he might be in the custody of Mrs Adeline."
"She told you to come to us with this information, right? I’m sure she will be okay with us arresting him anyway."
"Yeah, however, we should find a way to infiltrate the casino to further figure out what’s going on behind the scenes, like what this mysterious organization is?"
Karen and Yuria frowned.
"We don’t even know where to begin, Jin. And no one will give up the location." Karen wanted to bust them as well, but she had nothing to go on.
"Alright, let’s just arrest this engineer then."

"Sir, I failed." The portal woman called her boss the moment she knew she was safe. On the other end of the phone, a man spoke.
"He managed to escape you?"
"N-No. He knew I was watching him. I don’t know how, but he knew I was there. He was even able to chase me while I was portaling away."
"That’s...Hmmm. He must be very smart. I’m assuming he was using a power kit, right?"
"Yes, sir."
"Amazing. To be able to configure his power kit to track warps in spacetime. He must really be a genius! Do you think you can recruit him? He will be a great addition to our cause."
"I can try. However—" A scanner started beeping, alerting her that Jin was leaving the police station. "He’s leaving the police station, sir."
"Can you follow him without being noticed?"
"I can try."
The man on the other end was silent for a while. "I’ll send back up. They will cause a distraction while you get him alone so I can speak to him."
"I understand." The portal woman hung up and teleported to a roof where she could watch Jin, bringing binoculars so she could keep a good distance this time.

"So, how are things with you and Addison?"
"Oh my gosh, Yuria, are you serious? We’re not dating."
"Please. She asks you out, you have dinner with her family, she helps you break into her mother’s company, and then her mom doesn’t reprimand you? Come on, she’s so into you, man."
"And I’m not into her. She’s just a new friend I made."
"A new friend with benefits." She teased
"You know what, I think I’ll just hop out of the car." Jin rolled down the window and acted as if he was going to jump out.
"Haha! Get your ass back in here, that’s dangerous."
Jin smiled, rolling the window back up. When he looked forward, he noticed that a woman was standing in the middle of the street.
"What’s her deal?" Yuria wondered, slowing down, but when she did, the woman started running toward the car with such speed that she didn’t even have time to react to the car getting crushed against her body.
Jin, however, was able to react in the nick of time, activating his power kit, grabbing Yuria, and leaping out of the car window.
They rolled on the hard pavement, avoiding major injuries, and quickly got up to understand what had just happened.
"You okay?" He asked
"Y-Yeah. You?"
"Peachy."
"Are you Jin?" The woman pointed at him.
"Who’s asking?"
She smirked. "My boss wants to speak with you." She appeared right in front of him, her power being superspeed, and struck at Jin’s belly to knock him out instantly.
But since Jin had gotten a lot stronger, he was able to react to her speed even without the aid of his power kit.
He grabbed her hand, twisted it, then kicked her away.
The woman, slightly surprised, got up and wiped blood from her mouth. "Heh, I like men who put up a struggle."
"Stay where you are and put your hands in the air! I will not hesitate to use force if you don’t comply!" Yuria aimed her gun at the woman, prepared to injure her and, if need be, end her.
"How will you fight me when you have to deal with them?" The woman pointed to the left, and a massive molten rock flew toward Yuria.
She quickly teleported out of the way, but then was blasted in the back by a lightning bolt.
"Arghhh!"
Jin went to aid her, but he sensed someone approaching him, so he spun around, dropping low to swipe at the person’s leg, then kicked them away in the ribs.
"Hmph, invisibility wont work against me." Not only was his suit equipped with many types of visual aiding tools, but her could see her using mana.
"You may have gotten lucky once," Her fingernails grew to the length of claws, getting stronger and durable in the process. "But that wont happen again." She lunged at Jin, ready to take him down.
