"Grandpa Shen, our families have been friends for generations. Qiaoqiao is like a little sister whom I’ve watched grow up. Now that I know about this, I must protect her."
Rong Qingqing smiled, "So there’s no need for you to mention owing anything, Grandpa Shen."
Old Master Shen’s gaze toward Rong Qingqing held a bit more admiration.
He used to think Rong Qingqing was just a well-behaved and obedient child. But now, it seemed she had many virtues he hadn’t noticed before.
Decisive and intelligent.
"Grandpa Shen, it’s fine as long as you don’t blame me for hitting Shen Xingwei this hard. When the accident happened today, I was truly scared, felt a blockage in my heart, and couldn’t help but take action."

Rong Qingqing patted the back of Shen Qiao’s hand, "I don’t feel angry for myself. I am concerned about Qiaoqiao. You wouldn’t believe how frightened she was. When the bodyguard pulled her out of the car, Qiaoqiao was shaking so much she couldn’t stand."
Shen Qiao instinctively wanted to refute by saying it wasn’t true.
But after seeing Rong Qingqing’s expression of deep compassion and near disbelief, Shen Qiao silently shut her mouth.
Although she didn’t understand why her Sister Qing did this, she trusted there was a reason.
She didn’t want to give her Sister Qing another chance to call her a fool.
Even if Sister Qing claimed she was scared to the point of wetting her pants, she wouldn’t contradict her Sister Qing.
"You’re not to blame; you did the right thing. Shen Xingwei indeed acted inappropriately." Old Master Shen waved his hand, "I’ll have him personally come and apologize to you all later."

Old Master Shen thought for a couple of seconds and agreed.

By avoiding contact with Shen Xingwei, she could essentially preserve her skin.
"Now, please rest well." After saying that, Old Master Shen glanced at the always quiet Shen Jue.
Feeling a pang of regret and sorrow.
This once was his most proud grandson.
"Shen Jue, your father is no longer here, and as a man, you must be the backbone of the family."
Leaving Shen Jue with a few words, Old Master Shen departed.
Seeing Rong Qingqing look quite unwell, Guo Lan called Nanny Zhao to take Rong Qingqing upstairs to rest.
"Have others do the kitchen work. Qingqing is close to you; keep an eye on her in her room this afternoon."
"I’m also going upstairs to rest." Shen Jue cast a glance at Lin Bufan, and the two followed Nanny Zhao and Rong Qingqing into the elevator.
Guo Lan hesitated to speak but ultimately didn’t call Shen Jue back, instead pulling Shen Qiao to sit on the sofa, asking with concern about Shen Qiao’s recent school life.
Guo Lan felt deeply guilty. Without a father, she, as a mother, was the child’s last support, yet she still couldn’t adequately care for the child. "If your father knew, he would feel so heartbroken for you." Guo Lan hugged her daughter and patted her gently, "Perhaps you should switch schools? A new environment?"
"No need." Shen Qiao shook her head, "I feel my school is fine. Even my most disliked homeroom teacher, Sister Qingqing said, will no longer be my teacher in a couple of days!"
