Shen Jue scolded Rong Qingqing before grabbing her wildly waving hand. On closer inspection, it was indeed burnt red.
Delicate skin was basically referring to someone like Rong Qingqing.
When Rong Jiaojiao came over, Shen Jue was in the middle of asking the store’s staff for some burn ointment. The staff, looking troubled, said they didn’t have any in stock. Shen Jue immediately called the driver to buy some from a nearby pharmacy and bring it over.
"Qingqing, I heard from a friend you two were having hot pot here too," Rong Jiaojiao beamed with the joy of a coincidental meeting and then asked in a concerned tone, "I heard you needed burn ointment? What happened? Who got burned?"
Rong Qingqing thought, thank goodness she had finished eating before Rong Jiaojiao showed up, otherwise just looking at Rong Jiaojiao’s fake face would have ruined her appetite.
Seeing Rong Jiaojiao waiting for her answer, Rong Qingqing shook her burnt hand and glanced at Shen Jue, "I just got splashed a little, it turned a tiny bit red, and he’s making a fuss—asking the server for burn ointment was one thing, but sending the driver to buy more is really pampered."
When Shen Jue was asking the server for burn ointment, Rong Qingqing had refused, but Shen Jue seemed to have selective hearing and ignored it.
So, Rong Qingqing’s remark about him being pampered was meant to provoke Shen Jue.
Unexpectedly, Shen Jue just sat there calmly, as if he hadn’t heard a thing.
Meanwhile, Rong Jiaojiao was indeed fuming inside.
She thought Rong Qingqing was deliberately showing off how much Shen Jue cared for her, flaunting how anxious he was over her.
Rong Jiaojiao stood there with a forced smile, unwilling to play along with Rong Qingqing by praising the depth of Shen Jue’s feelings for her, making it seem as though he was on edge even if she was slightly hurt.
Rong Qingqing, seeing Rong Jiaojiao just standing there, had no intention of inviting her to sit down.
Looking at the broth still bubbling in the pot, Rong Qingqing sat there like a patriarch, raising an eyebrow at Shen Jue, "Help yourself to whatever else you want to eat. I can’t serve you anymore. I’m afraid if I do, next time it’ll be your handsome face that gets burned."
Shen Jue’s lips twitched, and he chuckled lightly.
Someone as clumsy as her, serve anyone?
She’s the most clumsy person in the world.
No wonder she needed him to help pick and cook the food, otherwise, with her clumsiness, she’d probably end up in the hospital burn unit after barely starting the hot pot.
"I’m done eating. Let’s go," Shen Jue said. "The driver has already parked nearby; we can head straight over."
It was only then that Rong Qingqing responded with an "ah," but seeing Shen Jue already picking up the stuff from the sales office and placing it on his lap, she didn’t feel right just sitting there any longer.

As they left, Rong Qingqing kept rambling about Shen Jue being wasteful, and how, as a man, he couldn’t even eat more than she could, a girl.
Rong Jiaojiao didn’t hear whether Shen Jue responded to Rong Qingqing’s ramblings, but one thing was for sure, Shen Jue didn’t scold Rong Qingqing.
Rong Jiaojiao never thought that there could be a woman who could stand that close to Shen Jue, like a regular couple, a girl who could stand by Shen Jue’s side, nagging and criticizing him without receiving a cold stare or impatience from him.
At least Rong Qingqing didn’t.
Rong Jiaojiao couldn’t quite describe what she felt at that moment.
She thought after snatching Shen Xingwei away from Rong Qingqing, Rong Qingqing would be in anguish, in utter despair.
