Touchline Rebirth: From Game To Glory Chapter 193

Chapter 193: A Day Off

It was well past midnight, but the party wasn’t slowing down.

The music had dropped to a more relaxed beat.

Some of the older staff had gone home, but most of the players were still there, laughing, dancing, and soaking up every second of the night.

Niels sat at a small table near the back of the hall with a glass of water in front of him.

He was still in his black suit. His tie was loose, and the top button of his shirt was undone.

He looked tired, but happy.

Emma sat down across from him with a small smile. Her heels were off, and she was holding them in one hand.

"Need me to carry you out of here?"

"I might take you up on that," Niels chuckled. "You holding up?"

Emma laughed. "I’m holding on. Just." She looked around the room. "But seeing everyone happy makes it worth it."

Niels nodded. "They worked hard for this."

They sat quietly for a moment, watching the players having fun.

"I’m proud of them," Emma said softly. "And proud of you."

Niels smiled. "Thanks. That means a lot."

Emma stood up. "We should get back before they think we’re gone."

Niels got up too and followed her back into the party, ready to enjoy the rest of the night.

The room was full of real laughter and happiness, earned through hard work.

After a moment, Niels spoke quietly. "It’s strange. We just made history, but standing here... it doesn’t feel huge. It feels calm."

Emma nodded. "That’s because you’re already thinking about what’s next."

He shrugged. "Can’t help it."

She smiled softly. "Well, you don’t have to think about that tonight."

For a moment, they just sat in silence, letting the moment settle around them.

A silence that only comes after a big moment.

Then Max came over, still full of energy.

"You two look like you’re ready to call it a night," he said with a grin. "Come on, let’s get back to the party."

Niels stood up and stretched. "Alright, alright."

On their way back to the music, he looked at the players. They were happy, full of energy, and united.

No matter what came next, they would face it.

But for now, they had this moment to hold on to.

And they weren’t done celebrating yet.

Emma nudged him gently. "Ready?"

He nodded. "Yeah. Let’s enjoy it while we can."

They walked back into the crowd, surrounded by laughter and music. For now, they didn’t have to think about the future.

The music was starting to fade, and the crowd in the King’s Royal Hall was getting smaller.

Niels stood near the exit and saw the main group of players gathered together, still noisy and full of energy.

He walked over, tired but smiling.

As he came closer, the players quieted down and looked at him.

Some players were sitting, others leaning against the wall, but all were watching Niels.

Around them, a few people were putting on their coats or saying their goodbyes.

The warm feeling from the celebration still stayed with the group.

Niels looked around at the familiar faces, relaxed and content.

The night was almost over, but this small group stayed together a little longer, enjoying the quiet after the excitement.

"Boys," Niels said, his voice calm but firm over the last bits of chatter. "Just a quick word." He looked at each of them, seeing their tired but happy faces. "What you did tonight... it’s a feeling you’ll never forget. You earned every part of this. The celebration, the headlines, the bonus from the chairman, it’s all because you believed in yourselves and in each other."

He paused to let it sink in. "Tomorrow is a day off. Sleep in, spend time with your families, or just relax by yourself. The whole town is celebrating you, so enjoy it. We’ll be back training the day after tomorrow. But for now... just rest."

The players cheered and patted him on the back, smiling even though they looked tired. Some clapped, and others gave quick high-fives.

A few looked at Niels and nodded quietly to say thanks.

Slowly, they started gathering their things and walked toward the door.

Outside, the cool night air was waiting. The party was ending, and it was time to rest.

Niels watched as the last of the players left the hall. He nodded and said goodbye to Emma and the staffs, thanking them for everything.

"See you tomorrow," Emma said with a tired smile.

"Good night, everyone," Niels replied, his voice soft.

He stepped outside into the cool night. The streets were quiet now, and the celebration was ending. Latest content publıshed on novel✶fire.net

Niels took a deep breath and began walking home. He was ready to rest and get ready for the days ahead.

When Niels got home, he closed the door quietly. The house was dark and quiet.

He hung up his coat and sat down on the couch for a moment, feeling tired.

He poured a glass of water and looked around. Everything was calm and familiar. He stayed still for a while, enjoying the peace.

After some time, he got up and went to his bedroom. He changed into comfortable clothes and lay down to rest.

Tomorrow would come soon, but for now, he just relaxed.

Niels closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He thought about the night the cheers, the smiles, and how far they’d come.

After a moment, he lay down and fell asleep, ready for what comes next.

The next morning, sunlight came through the window.

Niels woke up feeling rested. The house was quiet and calm.

He stretched and got out of bed, ready to start the day. It was a new day with new challenges, but for now, everything felt peaceful.

Niels went to the kitchen and made a cup of coffee. He looked out the window and saw the town waking up.

The morning was quiet after the loud celebration last night.

He took a deep breath and smiled. It was time to get ready for what comes next.

For once, the Crawley players didn’t have to be at training early.

Niels’s message was clear: rest and recover. No hard training today. See you the day after tomorrow.

The players spent the day in their own ways.

Some slept late, catching up on missed sleep from the weeks before the match.

Others went out to a coffee shop, a quiet park, or spent time with family and friends who had come to celebrate.

The mood was calm and proud, a quiet happiness from a dream they had made real.

Niels took a step back too, but his mind never fully left the job. He answered a few quick calls from Emma, who was already handling the busy aftermath of the win.

The media was everywhere, and sponsors were calling non-stop.

"Just so you know," she said quietly over the phone, "we need to keep the team focused. The attention is going to be huge."

Niels nodded, even though Emma couldn’t see him.

He knew the next days would be busy not just with training, but with managing all the new pressure.

For now, though, he let himself relax a little. The team had earned this moment.

Across town, Max sat at his kitchen table with a big smile. He was on FaceTime with his family. His little brother watched closely, excited to hear about the winning goal.

Max told them how it happened the pass, the shot, the moment the ball hit the net.

His voice was full of excitement, like it just happened.

His parents cheered and laughed on the screen.

Max felt happy knowing he made them proud.

He stayed on the call for a while, enjoying sharing the moment with his family.

At a local café, Dev and Jamal sat together, sharing breakfast. Their talk kept coming back to the match.

"Did you see that tackle?" Dev laughed. "The ball just stuck to your foot like a magnet!"

Jamal grinned and used a crumpled napkin to act out the move.

They both laughed, still buzzing from the win and the fun of the game.

Meanwhile, Liam and Fletcher walked slowly through the town center, feeling calm and happy inside.

The streets were quieter now, but the buzz from last night still lingered in the air.

A few fans spotted them and called out words of thanks and encouragement.

Liam and Fletcher smiled and nodded, grateful for the support.

They took a moment to look around, seeing the town still full of pride and joy.

It felt like they were part of something bigger, a shared moment in history that connected them all.

Walking side by side, they didn’t need many words. The feeling between them said it all.

Even on a day meant for rest, reminders of their work were everywhere. In a café, a TV showed a news ticker with a headline about Crawley’s big win, then a preview of their next league match.

Niels saw it and his brow furrowed slightly. The players were enjoying the moment, but he knew they would need to focus again soon.

As evening came, the players started to feel more like themselves again.

The rest had helped, and the bond they built on the pitch was now showing off it too.

Before going to bed, Niels sent a short message in the team group chat:

’Enjoy the rest of the night, lads. You’ve earned this. Be proud of what we’ve done. But tomorrow, we get back to work. New game, new mission. The journey continues.’

The players’ phones lit up with Niels’s message. For a moment, the joy of the win and the thought of what came next sat side by side.

It was a quiet reminder: the journey wasn’t over.

A few towns away, in a small office, a rival manager sat watching a replay of Crawley’s match.

The room was dark, lit only by the glow of the screen.

He watched closely, studying how they played their energy, their teamwork, their belief.

"They’re going to be a problem," he muttered to himself.

He didn’t know exactly how yet, but he knew he had to find a way to stop them.
