From Xia Chenyu’s perspective, although Fang Bai was powerful, he was not yet powerful enough to be above everything. Once he killed someone, there were only two paths left for him.
One was to flee immediately, and the other was to turn himself in and await legal judgement.

The moment the shot rang out, Fang Wu and Li Hu were also stunned, thinking Fang Bai was done for. When they saw Liu Yang’s shot go astray, they finally breathed a sigh of relief, but a cold sweat broke out on their backs.
However, what followed was that Fang Bai didn’t run or hide; instead, he advanced towards the gun aimed by Liu Yang.
Both men exclaimed in unison.
Unexpectedly, Liu Yang didn’t fire again. Instead, he remained in the shooting stance, watching in disbelief as Fang Bai approached him.
Those who paid close attention would notice that Liu Yang’s gaze toward Fang Bai was full of fear, with cold sweat dripping constantly from his forehead.
"Director Liu, the criminal is violently resisting the law, what are you waiting for? Shoot him quickly and bring him to justice!"
Fang Qun, seeing Liu Yang as if he had been scared silly, became both angry and anxious, shouting fiercely.
Liu Yang opened his mouth, only to find that he was unable to speak. Looking at Fang Qun, who was gesticulating at him, he cursed inwardly, "I damn well want to shoot, but I can’t move at all!"
When Wang Bin and the other officers arrived at Liu Yang’s office, this was the scene they walked into.

Thinking of the gunshot heard before and seeing the shattered window glass all over the floor, Wang Bin’s heart skipped a beat, and he asked loudly.
Liu Yang, unable to move or speak, was close to tears, frantically signaling with his eyes to Wang Bin and the others to subdue Fang Bai.
Now the distance between Fang Bai and him was less than a meter, and he was truly afraid that Fang Bai would suddenly attack him.

Fang Bai knew that Wang Bin was his older cousin Fang Wu’s classmate and highly appreciated his efforts to speak up for Fang Wu earlier. Turning around, he said, "You’re Wang Bin, right? From what I see, you’re the only good person in this police station!"
Upon hearing these two words, Wang Bin couldn’t help but smile bitterly to himself. He did want to be a good person, a police officer respected and beloved by all, but with a crooked leader like Liu Yang, the police station’s atmosphere had gone bad.
Sometimes, Wang Bin would impractically imagine that if he were the leader, he would make great efforts to reform the police station, rejuvenate its spirit, and ensure every officer becomes one that the public would give a thumbs-up for being good.
Unfortunately, Wang Bin had neither money nor connections and was not the type to flatter superiors. Instead, his straightforward nature often led to clashes with the leader, resulting in him being overlooked for commendations and promotions.
Wang Bin was aware that his nature could offend people, but it was hard to change one’s inherent character. Thus, he resigned himself to being an ordinary officer for life.

Sun Ming’s group of six were the officers responsible for interrogating Fang Bai, Fang Wu, and Li Hu. With them being knocked out and the three suspects appearing in the office, even a fool would know the incident was related to them.
Wang Bin had initially wanted to help Fang Wu, but if it was true that the three of them had knocked out the officers and escaped the interrogation room, the crime was severe, and there would be no legal repercussions even if they were shot on the spot.
