Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde Chapter 10

Are you cursing me to die early? I have no intention of kicking the bucket right after transmigrating. With such a powerful system and a golden finger at my disposal...

I haven't even met the beautiful sisters of the Eldar Race yet! I haven't seen the joyful green-skinned orcs! I haven't laid eyes on the high-tech pinnacle that is the space skeletal framework!

And there's still so much of the Warhammer universe left to explore.

That being said, within the Imperium, the phrase "May your soul return to the Golden Throne" is a blessing, so Rhodes didn't take it too seriously.

After all, how could he when the kind smile of the hospitaller sister in front of him was so healing?

At that moment, the nearby scribe sister was still examining the genetic comparison on the instrument. The genes of this young man were so pure it was almost unbelievable—he was the epitome of an ancient Terra noble's pure human bloodline.

It was as if, for generations, his ancestors had never once left Holy Terra, never consumed any synthetic space food, never been exposed to any cosmic radiation—there wasn't a single trace of mutation or genetic disorder. But how was that even possible?

Surely, this must be a blessing from the great Emperor himself, granting this man such an untainted human lineage.

A commoner with such an exceptionally pure human genetic line—if he had been discovered earlier, he would have been highly sought after, extremely valuable. He might have even been sold to a noble family, as humans with such pure bloodlines were highly coveted.

Many interstellar nobles had been colonizing alien planets for millennia, some for tens of thousands of years.

Over time, their human bloodlines unavoidably underwent mutations, alterations, or changes due to life-extending surgeries.

Many of the life-extension procedures used by human nobles were borrowed from alien species.

A pure human bloodline was incredibly valuable. Normally, someone like him would be married into a noble family to sire exceptional offspring.

With some luck, he would never have to worry about food or shelter again.

At that moment, the young hospitaller sister, Elena, knelt on the ground and gave Rhodes a gentle smile.

"You can lie down here for a while. I'll help you calm down and let you feel a moment of warmth. I know you're scared, but don't worry."

As she spoke, Elena patted her lap, gesturing for Rhodes to rest on it.

"Imperial citizen, let me end your pain and fear. Let me gently guide you back to the Golden Throne."

On this perilous battlefield, falling into the hands of the Tyranids would be an unimaginably cruel fate. So, Sister Elena decided to use some special means.

For instance, she could inject Rhodes with a certain special serum, allowing him to return to the Golden Throne peacefully.

Not long ago, while tending to wounded soldiers, she had gently cradled dozens of severely injured Astra Militarum troopers in her lap, letting them pass away in her embrace before their souls ascended to the Golden Throne.

The scribe sister standing nearby had already realized what Elena intended to do.

The hospitaller sister truly was gentle—so gentle that she would gently send you back to the Golden Throne.

"No need for that! I'm fine on my own. After all, we've just met. Miss Hospitaller Sister, I sincerely appreciate your kindness."

Rhodes wiped the sweat from his forehead and spoke up.

A lap pillow from the hospitaller sister? This wasn't a freebie—it was a trap!

"No one offers favors for no reason. If they do, they have ulterior motives!"

Rhodes didn't believe for a second that his charm was so overwhelming, that his aura of dominance was so powerful, that a Sister of the Emperor, upon meeting him for the first time, would instantly fall madly in love with him.

In the grim darkness of the Warhammer universe, one had to be extremely careful.

As tempting as the hospitaller sister's soft lap pillow was, Rhodes politely refused.

"Don't be afraid. I'll be very gentle~"

But it was clear that Elena wasn't about to give up. She continued to gesture for Rhodes to lie down on her lap.

Meanwhile, she discreetly prepared a syringe filled with a green liquid.

"Soon, you will peacefully return to the Golden Throne. I will kiss your ear, and then you will drift off to sleep, embraced in the warmth of the great Emperor."

"Enough, Elena. Since this gentleman refuses your kindness, let's not insist any further."

The scribe sister, Atoria, reached out to stop Elena and shook her head.

"That big guy outside might be able to hold off the Tyranids. We may even last long enough for reinforcements to arrive. Nothing is set in stone yet."

Atoria's intervention was a relief for Rhodes.

This hospitaller sister was way too enthusiastic!

He was beginning to feel like he needed to use his monster-enhancement ability just to defend himself from her!

Rhodes had always been very confident about his luck with women:

That is to say, there was absolutely no way in hell that a beautiful woman would approach him without a hidden motive.

(90% of the time, that's how it is—so guys, be careful and don't fall for traps.)

Rhodes simply couldn't fathom what could have possibly made this hospitaller sister take a sudden interest in him.

She hadn't even asked for his name!

That made it all the more suspicious.

So, staying far away from her was the best option—she was dangerous!

"Very well. Then please rest as you see fit, dear citizen."

Elena sighed and said no more.

Rhodes nodded, immediately moving to a far corner of the room—at least five or six meters away from the hospitaller sister.

But even then, he did not dare to sleep.

First, he needed to monitor the Red King's condition, ensuring that he could enhance him at the critical moment.

Second, he had to remain vigilant against these two sisters!

Outside, the Red King was still engaged in battle.

The Tyranid swarm had gathered a massive force to encircle him, and the earth-shattering fight continued.

In the Tyranids' lexicon, tactical retreat did not exist—especially not when facing an isolated enemy. Their strategy was simple: exhaust their opponent completely.

The distant battlefield was a scene of utter carnage.

Through his system panel, Rhodes could tap into the Red King's vision, witnessing firsthand the battlefield from the giant's perspective.

Countless Tyranids lay slain at the Red King's feet, their bodies piling up. His entire body had been stained a deep, inky green with their blood.

Back in the shelter, Elena whispered, her expression filled with regret.

"Sister, why wouldn't you let me save that poor civilian? You know the horrible fate that awaits him soon..."

Dying peacefully in his sleep, cradled in the warm embrace of a hospitaller sister, was far less painful than what awaited him on the battlefield.

Atoria sighed helplessly.

She then took out a small device, placed it near her leg, and activated it—producing static noise to ensure their conversation remained unheard.
