Bella Acker wrapped her arms around Damian Sinclair’s neck, pleading pitifully, "Damian, I’m still carrying the baby."
Damian Sinclair was helpless, "I know."
"Then you..." Bella said, tightening her grip on his neck, lifting her rear slightly to distance herself from the thing beneath.
Damian Sinclair’s arm stiffened, pinched her waist, his breath somewhat unsteady, "Don’t move around."
Scared, Bella instantly dared not move, looking at him pitifully.
Damian carried her back to the bedroom, laying her on the bed, "Want to eat something more?"
"No... no more." Bella looked at him, shaking her head.
"Then sleep early, tomorrow morning I’ll take you to the hospital." Damian leaned down and kissed her forehead.
"Aren’t you... aren’t you sleeping?" Bella foolishly asked another question.
A hint of amusement passed through Damian’s eyes, he grabbed her small hand and placed it beneath him, "Baby, when I come to bed now, it’s not just about sleeping. Or do you want it too?"
"Who’s asking for it, you bad guy." Feeling the heat and size in her palm, Bella withdrew her hand in fright, her cheeks reddening as she hid under the covers, wrapping herself into a ball and closing her eyes, "I’m going to sleep, hurry and leave."
"You little heartless one, I’ll let you off today." Damian pinched her nose and gave her pouty lips a peck, tucked her in a bit more, then said, "I have some work to handle, might be late. You sleep early, no snacks in bed, and no lying in bed reading novels, got it?"
"Got it. Hurry and go, go quickly." Bella urged from under the covers.
Damian tapped her little nose and finally left the bedroom.
Only upon hearing the bedroom door close did Bella, with cheeks red, open her eyes, thinking about what her hand had just touched, shyly grinning under the blankets. She laughed for a while before emerging her head, breathing warmly.
Damian must like her, right?
Watching the ceiling, Bella giggled until she unknowingly fell asleep.
By the time Damian finished all his work and returned to the bedroom, it was already past midnight.
The room was warm, and Bella slept with a rosy face. After freshening up, Damian got in bed, reaching out to hold her close.
"You’re back?" Bella said, eyes still closed, snuggling into his embrace, finding a comfortable spot.
"Sleep now." Damian held her, contentedly closing his eyes.
Early the next morning, they went to the hospital for a prenatal check-up.
Veridian Medical Center is a renowned private hospital in Creston, boasting excellent medical equipment and doctor resources, though its high fees deter many from the working class.
Damian took Bella into the hospital, immediately greeted by a pretty nurse who was both enthusiastic and polite, "Mr. Sinclair, Dr. Warren is already waiting for you."
"Okay." Damian responded indifferently, noticing the woman beside him was restlessly looking around, so he promptly pulled her closer, "Walk properly."
"Oh." Bella pouted, "Damian, why are we at Veridian? Any maternity hospital would suffice."
Upon hearing this, Damian shot her a sideways glance, and Bella immediately covered her mouth, falling silent.
The pretty nurse paused slightly, glanced at Bella in surprise.
