There weren’t many people crossing the road, but there were quite a few vehicles.
"Watch out."
A motorcycle suddenly charged in from the side of the lane designated for turning, startling Archer Quinn. He reached out to embrace Bella, pulling her into his arms and stepped back two paces.
The motorcycle came out from beside a bus, where there was a blind spot, probably not expecting anyone to rush out so quickly. Seeing Bella in front, the rider himself got quite a scare.
"Miss, are you alright?"
Bella shook her head slightly nervously, "I’m okay, I’m okay."
"Sorry, I was in a hurry to pick up my wife who’s giving birth, and didn’t see you." The motorcycle rider seemed genuinely rushed. Seeing that Bella was fine, he rode off.
Bella’s heart was pounding rapidly, even as she watched the motorcycle leave, she still hadn’t fully processed what had happened.
If Archer Quinn hadn’t grabbed her and pulled her back, she would have been hit directly by the motorcycle.
"Bella, how are you? Are you alright?" Archer Quinn was also a bit shaken, his voice softened as if afraid to startle the person in his arms.
"Huh?" Bella snapped back to reality, "I’m fine."
Only then did Bella realize she was still leaning against Archer Quinn’s chest.
Senior Quinn didn’t seem burly and tall, yet his embrace was surprisingly broad and comfortable. Bella thought about how she was leaning against him in public like this, her face flushed, feeling a bit embarrassed, she immediately retreated from his embrace.
"Senior Quinn..."
"Honk honk honk..." The pedestrian light had turned from green to red long ago, and the waiting drivers, seeing it about to turn green again, couldn’t hold back from honking the horn.
"Sorry." Archer Quinn gestured an apology to the driver, reached out to grab Bella’s wrist, and led her across the street.
Once across the street, he released Bella’s hand and smiled, "Bella, what were you about to say?"
"Um? Oh, I was going to say we were almost both hit by the motorcycle. I’m sorry." Bella, still a bit shaken, continued, "If something happened to you, Senior Quinn, your fans would probably tear me to pieces."
"They wouldn’t. As long as I’m here, they won’t do anything to you." Archer Quinn said, "Let me see your hand."
"Huh? My hand’s fine, it’s just a slight scrape." Bella was surprised that he noticed her minor scrape, thinking how attentive and gentle Senior Quinn was. Anyone who became his girlfriend would surely be very happy.
Archer Quinn took her hand and inspected it, "It’s scratched and bleeding a bit; we should get some medicine on it. There’s a clinic not far from here, let’s go check it out."
"Senior Quinn, it’s fine. I’m pretty tough; this little scrape will heal on its own in a couple of days." Bella glanced at the tiny scratches on the back of her hand, not feeling it was a big deal.
"You start filming tomorrow, and your hand might have to go into water during one of the scenes, so it’s better to treat the wound so it heals faster." Archer Quinn explained, grabbing her wrist and dragging her toward the clinic.
Bella had no choice but to follow him to the clinic.
The clinic’s storefront was small. Apart from a child on a small bed being held down by his mother while receiving an IV and crying, there were no other patients.
Archer Quinn stepped forward, "Excuse me, is the doctor in?"
