Wizard: Adventures in Two Worlds Chapter 109

Giving up the path of a Bloodline Wizard to switch to Earth Element Witchcraft has made it very difficult to advance further.

Indeed, the knowledge of cultivating Arachne has provided me with a wealth of experience. The progress of a Bloodline Wizard is speeding up. I wonder if the Divine Envoy can provide similar knowledge, though I really don’t want to see her.

Her? Carl thought, his brow slightly furrowed.

From the manuscript, it seemed that Robert had feared another Divine Envoy above him.

Meditation Method is the key!

Carl looked up, gently massaging his temples as he thought, It’s over. The Meditation Method I’ve been practicing is the Deep Sea Meditation of the Natural School, which is part of the Water Element and doesn’t match the Fire Mark at all. If I had practiced a Fire Element Meditation Method, the power of the Fire Mark would certainly be stronger. The secondary magical field belongs to the Field series of witchcraft, Arcane Missiles to the Arcane branch of witchcraft... No wonder Robert said I seem like a cultivator who accidentally stumbled onto the path of a wizard. My practices are too chaotic and lack a systematic approach.

Robert himself had also taken detours. If given a choice, he would definitely have chosen the legacy of an Earth Element Wizard.

Alas. Once one starts on the path of wizardry, making adjustments are too difficult and require a lot of time and effort. The same element of Meditation Methods, tricks, Zero-Circle Magic, and One-Circle Witchcraft not only stack in power but also facilitate breakthroughs more easily.

Carl sighed, thinking, Why didn’t Senior Sister Hibell ever mention this?

He was indeed unfairly blaming Hibell, as she herself didn’t understand this aspect. The knowledgeable ones were not around. Moreover, no one knew that within just one year, Carl had managed to master several Zero-Circle Magic spells.

Carl looked thoughtful, musing, With the Divine Domain Fragment I possess, even constructing witchcraft of different elements isn’t too troublesome. So, taking a few detours won’t affect me much. However, to become an Official Wizard requires a complete legacy.

Hmm... Freedom Port is adjacent to the Endless Sea. That place isn’t lacking in creatures with special powers, which also belong to the Water Element. If I could find a powerful Water Element Legendary Creature and follow the path of a Bloodline Wizard...

A shout interrupted his thoughts.

"Oh!" Carl came to his senses, put away the manuscript, and replied, "I’m coming."

This manor was obviously special. It contained not only manuscripts written by Robert but other things as well.

Women, covered in bruises and wounds, emerged from the manor’s underground chambers and were assisted onto carriages. These were the young women who had gone missing from the city. They had been imprisoned by Robert in the underground chambers for his pleasure, to be wantonly abused. It wasn’t just Robert; sometimes they were used to entertain others or to reward the fire stealers. They were even sometimes used to refine potions in exchange for favor from certain dignitaries. In some people’s eyes, these girls were not their kin at all, but mere objects. Or even food!

However, Carey’s fiancée was not among them; it seemed she truly had been murdered.

Even though Dana strictly adhered to the Knight’s Code, upon seeing the scene of the imprisoned girls, she couldn’t help but burst into rage, cursing, "Killing him would be too kind!"

"Here," Carl replied, stepping forward.

"Take Mrs. Annie away," Dana said, lowering her voice. "Don’t let anyone know."

Mrs. Annie? Carl thought, surprised, his gaze shifting to the nearby carriage.

Just then, the edge of the carriage curtain was lifted, revealing half of a delicately beautiful face with smooth, translucent skin.

This lady was also imprisoned by Robert in the manor?

Mrs. Annie, famed as the foremost beauty of Sigerno City, was the dream date of countless men. It was no wonder there had been no news of her lately; she had been trapped in this manor all this time. Although she was known for being flirtatious, it would still reflect poorly if this news spread, which was why Dana had arranged for an escort. The choice of Carl was simple. He was about to leave Sigerno City, so even if rumors spread, no one would care.

Carl nodded and boarded the carriage.

The carriage was spacious. Mrs. Annie, wrapped tightly in a long robe, huddled silently in a corner. The carriage wheels turned, slowly departing from the manor.

Carl lit the kerosene lamp, covered it with a lampshade, sat down opposite her, and took out a book to read. Under the dim light, a pair of curious eyes could vaguely be seen.

Carl, startled, looked up. "Do you know me?"

Mrs. Annie nodded slowly. Perhaps because she had been imprisoned for a long time, her voice was somewhat hoarse as she said, "I’ve heard your name."

"Is that so?" Carl frowned. "I’m just an ordinary inspector, Mrs. Annie. You are so distinguished; how could you know me?"

There seemed to be no connection between them, and he didn’t think he was worth her notice.

"Distinguished?" Mrs. Annie murmured. She shifted closer, a faint fragrance wafting toward him as she continued, "I’m just a weak woman without a husband, with no one to rely on."

Carl instinctively shifted to one side.

"What?" Mrs. Annie looked up, her clear, translucent eyes brimming with tears, her voice carrying a plaintive note. "Do you despise me?"

"No," Carl shook his head. "It’s just... I’m not used to someone being this close to me."

"Is that so?" Mrs. Annie blinked, her voice tinged with envy. "It must be nice to be a man, strong enough to stand alone. We women, however, cannot be without support."

She leaned in closer again.

What is this woman doing? Carl wondered.
