You didn’t accept my confession, why are you crying because I changed my mind? Chapter 77

After lunch, Su Nan came to Ganfanren holding a big stack of resumes.

Since this was a project that had appeared in the freshman welcome party, and it had the promotional face of three sweet, cute campus girls, students were genuinely enthusiastic about applying for part-time jobs here.

In just one day, Su Nan had received a large number of resumes.

“Boss, here’s the applicant info. They’ll be arriving shortly.”

“Oh? Classmate Feng is here too?”

Feng Siruo nodded and softly said hello.

Jiang Zhou took the resumes, scanned through them quickly, and just as expected, the majority of applicants were first-year students.

After all, only the freshmen had that kind of enthusiasm for part-time work.

Of course, this didn’t include special cases like Xu Haodong, who preferred “using his hands.”

Or Gao Wenkai, whose hobby was “flattering upperclassmen and their boyfriends.”

Or Zhang Guangfa, who was so obsessed with online romance that his eyes were basically glued to his screen.

“Sort them for me. Give priority to juniors and seniors. Be cautious with freshmen and sophomores,” Jiang Zhou instructed.

Su Nan didn’t understand. “Why?”

Jiang Zhou tossed the resumes on the table. “If someone is still looking for part-time work in their junior or senior year, they’re serious about it.”

“And freshmen and sophomores?”

“Most are impulsive. They think they’re grown up now and want to earn a bit of money. But as soon as it gets hard or tiring, they’ll quit.”

“Got it. I’ll categorize them by year.”

Not long after, with Feng Siruo’s help, Su Nan sorted all the applicants.

Around 2 p.m., the interviewees started arriving one after another.

Looking at all the fresh and hopeful faces, Jiang Zhou couldn’t help but think that youth was truly the most beautiful thing in the world.

“Do you have any previous part-time experience?”

“I used to help small motels near the train station attract customers.”

“Tell us why you want a part-time job.”

“I want to earn some money and take my wife shopping.”

“Your Mandarin isn’t great. How about a delivery job?”

“Sure, that’s great!”

“We’re hiring a food editor. Have you written any targeted promotional articles before?”

“No, but I’ve written web novels. Been doing it for five years.”

“Oh? How’s your track record?”

“I wrote too well, so no one read them. People these days only like trashy stuff.”

“Have you done any accounting work? Do you have a basic accounting certificate?”

“Huh? You need a certificate? Isn’t it enough to know addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division?”

After half a day of interviews, the thick stack of resumes was slowly whittled down.

Although half of the applicants weren’t really serious. Some just wanted quick cash to buy a phone, others came for Jiang Zhou himself, wanting to be the “boss’s wife”.

In the end, they still managed to hire the people they needed.

Delivery personnel: 32 hired.

Low requirements. They just need a scooter and a decent sense of direction.

Food editing team: included He Jie, a junior, and Zhou Chao, a freshman.

Su Nan was promoted to team leader and would fully manage content.

Finance: They chose Xu Yurong, a senior with internship experience.

She had strong number sense.

Market development: Due to higher standards, they selected four juniors from the business school.

Although seniors had more experience, they were soon graduating and applying for graduate school.

Market development wasn’t a short-term project, and Jiang Zhou didn’t want to recruit all over again once they left.

“Boss, with these hires, we should be good to go, right?”

Jiang Zhou stretched lazily. “Still no tall, long-legged, slim-waisted secretary. I’m a bit disappointed.”

Su Nan glanced at Feng Siruo. “Boss’s wife, how can you tolerate this?”

“Oh ho? Haven’t caught her yet? Boss, that’s weak!”

Jiang Zhou sighed helplessly. “Why must single people mock other singles? You think you’re doing that much better?”

Su Nan snorted, “I have suitors everywhere. I just don’t say yes.”

“Classic line from a player. Don’t learn from her, Feng Siruo.”

Su Nan pouted. “I’ve given my youth to this job and now I get mocked? Might as well quit.”

Jiang Zhou immediately smiled. “You could be a rich lady someday. Then you can have any man you want.”

“I only make 1,800 a month. When would I ever be rich?”

“You got a raise of 300 after just one month.”

“That doesn’t even cover my food expenses!”

Jiang Zhou lit a cigarette. “Your salary is about to double.”

Su Nan’s eyes lit up. “Really?”

“I plan to take this project to the second-half-year startup investment conference. If I’m lucky, we might get millions.”

“Best boss in the world! How much will you share with me?”

“I think you’re dreaming.”

“Then why get me all excited for nothing?!”

Just then, Feng Siruo suddenly said, “I’m hungry.”

Jiang Zhou stood up and stretched. “I already asked Han Rou to order food. We’ll eat here.”

“Order food? We’re in the delivery business. Why order ourselves?”

“Our current partners are just fast-food places. Haven’t you ever thought about having gourmet meals delivered to your dorm?”

“You’re planning to bring in bigger restaurants?”

Jiang Zhou nodded. “College students love to party, but there’s always leftover food. I asked Han Rou to negotiate with nearby upscale restaurants.”

Su Nan thought it over and quickly understood.

“You want them to reduce portions and prices but also offer delivery?”

“Exactly. We can’t stick to low-end markets. The more expensive the food, the more we profit.”

“How much will I get?”

“You’re such a money-grubber. All you think about is money!”

Su Nan snorted. “If not money, what? Dreams?”

Jiang Zhou felt Su Nan was a bit too sharp.

She hadn’t even entered society yet and already didn’t fall for the “boss’s vision” speech.

Feng Siruo was better — silly, gullible, easy to trick.

But to be fair, her family wasn’t short on money.

In her previous life, her parents had never approved of Jiang Zhou.

Even though he had become a young executive in a foreign company, to them he was still a nobody.

They got married without a single blessing.

This time around, Jiang Zhou swore he would never let that happen again.

“I’m out of money lately. Can I borrow some?”

Feng Siruo thought for a moment, then nodded.

“How much can you lend me?”

She held up one finger.

Su Nan guessed, “One thousand?”

Feng Siruo checked her phone. “I can give you… one… one hundred thousand.”

Su Nan gasped and nearly popped her eyes out.

This cute, timid college girl could casually hand out a hundred grand?

“Classmate Feng, are you a rich girl?!”

Feng Siruo bit her lip and stayed silent.

Right then, Jiang Zhou felt absolutely satisfied.

If she could easily offer 100k, that meant it was spare cash she didn’t need.

No one knew how much she truly had.

A top-tier rich girl was right by his side.

He was honestly tempted to just give up and become her kept man.

Suddenly, Feng Siruo stood up and prepared to leave.

Jiang Zhou snapped out of it. “Where are you going?”

“To transfer you the money.”

“I was joking. Sit back down.”

“Oh… then do you still need money?”

Jiang Zhou smiled faintly. “Everyone needs money. Even the richest can’t satisfy their greed. But…”

Both Su Nan and Feng Siruo turned to him, curious about what came next.

“But I’ll only let you spend mine. I won’t spend yours. Because I’m a man.”

Feng Siruo snorted softly. “I don’t want to spend your money anyway…”

Su Nan raised her hand and shouted, “I do! I’ll spend it!”

“If you spend my money, walking will hurt.”

“Huh? What does that mean?”

“You’ll understand… eventually.”
