“Your hand is bleeding!”
Qin Youxuan’s eyes tensed up as she tried to grasp his hand, only to be pulled away by Dan Hanjie.
“I am not going to die. A little bloodshed will only allow you to see how worried you are.”
Qin Youxuan’s body stiffened in disbelief as she looked up at him.
He was making light of his own body, just so she would worry about him.
Did he realize how severe his hand injury was?
The glass cut him so deep that it nearly severed his tendons.

“Have you lost your mind?” Qin Youxuan shouted, stepping back and glaring at him.
“You’re a madman, a madman!”
Dan Hanjie squinted, his deep gaze fixated on her hysterical display.
An elusive light flashed across his resolute face.
“It’s just a woman, you can throw a year’s agreement at me, so who are you putting up this show for?” Qin Youxuan gripped her hair uncontrollably as the strain of the past few days had made it impossible for her to control her emotions.
His relentless pressure left her breathless, and yet that agreement was constantly reminding her that there had to be an end.
She couldn’t pretend nothing happened, imagining a lifetime together, having kids…
“I don’t understand why a fake marriage can cause you so much trouble. Why do you insist on acting this way?” Qin Youxuan gazed at him blankly, her body continuously trying to step back.
She didn’t want to ask.
She thought that if he liked it, she would let him continue to hide it.
She wasn’t curious, really.
It’s just that it felt a little uncomfortable.
If he didn’t want to talk about it, even if she asked, he wouldn’t say anything.
It would only result in another heated argument.

“Dan Hanjie, what am I to you exactly? An expendable plaything?”
He could easily present her with an agreement and force her to sign it.
Yet, he was maiming himself for a woman who he could control so easily…
She really didn’t understand what he was thinking and she couldn’t stand it anymore!
With Qin Youxuan in his arms, Dan Hanjie’s grip kept tightening. His charming eyes transformed, and then he only said lazily, “You’ll find out after a year.”
“What if I can’t wait that long?” Qin Youxuan retorted without thinking.
“You must wait.” Dan Hanjie’s voice dropped, and his authoritative proclamation was stern and absolute.
His frosty eyes conveyed his supremacy and intolerance for any dispute.
Even with his pale face due to wearing only hospital gowns, his stern gaze left no room for anyone to question his decisions.
“Then can you promise me that within this year, no matter what I do, you won’t hurt yourself?” Qin Youxuan’s eyes flashed as she looked up at him.
“No,” Dan Hanjie’s answer was straightforward, without a hint of hesitation.
Qin Youxuan was choked with indignation.
She opened her eyes wide in anger, glaring at him.
“If I don’t hurt myself, I’m afraid I won’t be able to resist hurting you…” Dan Hanjie loosened his grip on her a little, his long fingers touching her delicate cheeks, and he uttered each word deliberately.
