He suddenly looked up, “How was I to know that’s what you’d ordered?”
“I clearly mentioned it before”—noticing the people sharing the table with them at that moment, Gu Qiangwei swallowed her words, not wanting to argue with him and potentially affect the old woman’s business.
She stared at the lean pork congee in his bowl for a while before coming up with a solution.

She pursed her lips and did not continue to press the issue.
Since he had answered her, he probably wasn’t angry, she assumed.
Looking up, she saw the familiar road outside the car window—they were on the way to her home.
Turning her head, she looked at the man, puzzled, “Where are you going?”
He turned his head, glanced at her, “To look into something that happened twelve years ago is not an easy task.” He said, then turned his head toward her and curbed the corner of his lips slightly, “Of course, I need to have a word with your jerk of a father.”
Seeing his face change suddenly, Gu Qiangwei was momentarily stunned but quickly regained her composure.
