In the hospital.
Mo Yuhan was sitting on the hospital bed holding Tang Li's palm in between both his palms. She lost a lot of blood and was still unconscious, the doctor concluded it was because of weakness and shock.
He gently kissed her knuckles as he gazed at her face. There was an ethereal glow to her face despite a little paleness.
Like her brother once said, she was prone to dangers. Even if she was standing quietly, someone would bump into her causing her to fall. His brows were bumped together as he looked at the unconscious woman with a deep gaze, he was not used to this sight.
He sighed before leaning closer to her, he gently kissed her forehead.
Just as he sat straight, there were two consecutive knocks on the door.
"Come in."
Mark entered inside first followed by Si Xiu and Li Yu who was called here by Mo Yuhan.
"President Mo," The man nodded at him. Mark frowned as he looked at his friend's unconscious figure, "When will she wake up?" He questioned before sitting on the other side of the bed.
On the way to the hospital, her bodyguards have already explained the matter to them in detail. Since they were ordered to stay low-key, those bodyguards kept themselves at a distance from her. So when the dog pounced at her, it was already late for them to stop it.
And before they could go to rescue her, Tang Li's swift reaction saved her from the situation. After that, Mo Yuhan carried her to the hospital.
"She needs rest right now," Mo Yuhan replied before looking at Li Yu, who was standing with his head lowered, "You can't even be a bodyguard properly? I overestimated your capabilities," He coldly said.
Li Yu had his head lowered but he did not utter a word in his defense as he would have done at other times.
Si Xiu looked at her cousin's unconscious figure and felt guilty. Even if it was not the bodyguards' fault, she should not have left her alone.
Mo Yuhan turned around to look at Tang Li, "I told you that she is the one you're working under but you could not protect her. You should know the consequences," his low voice resounded in the hospital room.
Li Yu remained quiet.
"President Mo, I am President Tang's secretary, Si Xiu," Mo Yuhan didn't look at her but she continued, "It was her order to not let Li Yu follow her." It was the least she could do for the man she was crushing over lately.
It was his fault in the first place that he infuriated her cousin but after getting slapped by her, the man has been acting strange.
Even now when her cousin-in-law was about to pass the death penalty on his name, he was still silent.
Li Yu raised his eyes and looked at her with a surprised expression on his frigid face. She dared to defend him in front of President Mo?
Feeling a piercing stare on her, Si Xiu tilted her head to the side and found Li Yu looking at her. She blinked her doe-eyes and grinned, her dimples appearing on either side of her cheeks. She puckered her lips slightly before let her tongue roam over her bottom lips for a split-second 'Are you touched? Come here~ Let this elder sister kiss you as compensation.' She thought to herself.
Li Yu felt his lips twitch. Even though he could not read her thoughts but her expression alone was relaying her dirty thoughts. He could sense that the woman was flirting a lot with him lately.
Mark raised an eyebrow. Is it a pink bubble he was seeing?
When they didn't hear a reply from Mo Yuhan, they immediately turned their focus to him. Was he angry?
But contrary to what they thought, the man was looking at his wife with a gentle expression on his face, "Stop pretending already," He softly murmured to which her lips twitched slightly before her expressions turned to normal.
Everyone: "_" Pretending? The patient was pretending to sleep all this while?
Before anyone could speak, the door was pushed open and Ethan entered with a few paper bags in his hand. He kept them on the bedside table before glaring at Mo Yuhan, "YouMan, if you cared about your woman that much, why bother pretending in the first place?" He rolled his eyes inwardly.
When has he, Ethan Allen, ever went to a restaurant to buy porridge for someone? Those smelly women there were salivating at his handsomeness. How disgusting!
Mark's lips twitched into a smile. Sure enough, nobody in this world would be able to take PDA well.
Mo Yuhan didn't reply to him as his gaze was still stuck on the woman who refused to open her eyes.
He flicked her forehead, "Open your eyes," He said coldly.
Her eyebrows twitched but she pursed her lips, seemingly refusing to open her eyes.
Mo Yuhan was helpless. Without giving any warning, he pressed his lips on hers sucking and nibbling until her face turned red because of breathlessness. Not being able to withstand it anymore, she opened her eyes and pushed the man away, "Y...YouDo you want to be a widower?" She was gasping lightly as she coldly said in a hoarse voice.
Mo Yuhan narrowed his eyes, "I did it because you refused to open your eyes."
"By any chance, did mom throw you on the floor when you were a kid?" She asked.
Mo Yuhan frowned. Thinking about it, he could not remember such an incident. He has always been a mature kid for his age and was never punished by elders. So he shook his head, "Why do you ask so?"
"Because you can be pretty dumb at times so I wondered if you had ever hit your head or something like that," Mo Yuhan's lips twitched as she continued, "Shouldn't you know it very well why I was pretending?" she asked calmly.
