While Tang Li and Mo Yuhan were entangled in their passionate night, there was another scene going on in the other room.
"Hey, Miss Si, you will be drunk soon if you keep going on like this," Ye Jie glanced at the woman who just picked up her second beer of the day, "And we are strangers? Shouldn't you be cautious as a woman?"
"So what? If you try to take advantage of me, I can break your third leg," She pointed her finger at him, "Moreover, call me Si Xiu. We can be friends."
"What's common between us to be considered as friends," Ye Jie slapped his forehead. He regretted putting this woman in the 'innocent' category just based on her looks. This woman was a savage.
At least, to him, she was. Who else would casually invite an unknown male to her room at this hour? And looking at the room she was staying in, she must be the heiress of some rich family.
"Who said there must be something common in between two people so that they can be friends? Idiot!" She glared at him before standing up from the bed and walking towards the man who was sitting on the couch, "Still, if you want to find something common. Then let's see it like this. Right at this moment, we both are bothered by our problems and sorrows, aren't we?" She patted his shoulder before offering a beer to him.
"I'm on duty. I can't drink right now," he softly spoke watching the woman so close to him. His heart raced but he shook his head slowly, "You're right, we both are facing some problems right now."
"Mind sharing yours with me?" She blinked at him.
He sighed, "My sister is in love with my married best friend. She is...almost crazy for him. If I try to convince her to stay away from him, she is treating me like some villain."
Si Xiu gulped the contents in the bottle before looking at him seriously, "Why don't you send her to seduce your friend?"
Ye Jie choked on air, "CoughI will not betray him but even if I want to do something like that, it won't be successful."
"Why?" Her vision started getting blurry.
Ye Jie chuckled, "If I send naked women to his empty bed at night in his wife's absence, he would kick them out of the window and apologize to his wife for not being able to guard his room properly." That was the type of man Mo Yuhan was.
"What a block of wood," Si Xiu laughed before leaning closer to him, "I feel so tired."
As her forehead rested on his shoulder, his heartbeats sped up once again. He put his palm on her forehead to push her away only to pause a second later.
"You have a fever"
Si Xiu, "You can leaveI am just lovelorn right now." She whispered trying to sit straight.
"What?" Lovelorn?
"You saywhy would he do that? I have alw-always expressed my liking towards him. And when I flirt, he doesn't seem to dislike it. But when I make any advances.Like I tried to hold his hand today, why did he push me away?" She slurred
He looked at her blankly, sensing a sour feeling in his chest. What am I thinking about? He held her up, putting her hand around his shoulder. He walked towards her bed while supporting her body.
Tucking her inside the blanket, he scoffed, "Whatever it is, you should not lose yourself over a man," he whispered before taking out his handkerchief from the pocket.
Soaking it in the glass of water kept on the bedside table, he placed it on her forehead.
He could not believe that he was sitting in a stranger's room, treating her fever.
The next day.
"Good morning," Mo Yuhan kissed her forehead as her eyes fluttered open.
"Morning," Her head rested on his shoulder as she blinked trying to adjust her vision.
She wrapped an arm tightly around his waist before burying her face in the nape of his neck, "I really missed you" she whispered.
His lips tilted up, "Me too" He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer to himself, "It will all be over soon and we will be back to our home."
"I know," She smiled leaning in his embrace.
"Lili"
"Mm?"
His eyes narrowed slightly, "That accident at the shopping malldo you think someone did it on purpose?'' Despite having his doubts about it, he wanted to know her opinion on it.
"You are doubting Ye Lan?" She asked without beating around the bush.
Mo Yuhan nodded.
Tang Li leaned his head on his bare chest drawing caressing his rock-hard abs with her fingertips. She was sure that Ye Lan had something to do with that incident. She did not remember provoking that dog in any way. And the way that woman looked at her with undisguised hatred, things were crystal clear.
She could have easily taught her a lesson but after knowing Ye Lan's relationship with Ye Jie.
"Sweetheart, I am not someone anyone can bully as they wish. Do your work. Such triflesleave them on me alright?" Since she didn't want to lie to him so she pretended to be neutral about it.
She was sure if she showed her feelings on her face then Ye Lan would not be able to live past tomorrow.
And the last thing she wanted to do was to ruin his friendship with Ye Jie.
If that woman came to provoke her again, then she won't mind being the villain here.
"You don't have to hold back about anything," He said, gently stroking her hair.
Tang Li nodded. "Have I met Ye Lan before? Why do I find her quite familiar..?"
"Have you ever met the Master of Lin Family?"
She was bewildered, "Master of Lin Family? Which one?"
"Lin Shi's father."
Tang Li was enlightened, "Yes, I have seen his picture before. Shishi keeps it under her pillow usually. WaitDon't tell me.."
"Ye Jie and Ye Lan are the illegitimate children of Lin Family," Looking at her changing expressions, he continued, "It's not that I did not want to tell you about it. It just never came to my mind.
No wonder she found Ye Lan familiar. She has got the best features of her father.
She sighed, "I know. Mo Yuhan....have you found the last piece of the map?" She was suddenly reminded of the conversation she overheard yesterday.
Mo Yuhan shook his head.
As she looked at his face, she came to a decision.
