Ning Yu’er was holding Tang Ye, her hand continuously caressing the gaping hole in his chest, as if she was attempting to flatten it. Little did she know, meaty bumps were wriggling and growing on Tang Ye’s hollow chest!
Tang Ye also started feeling warmth in his body, which gradually began to increase until it turned scalding. Ning Yu’er too, felt this anomaly on his body and lifted her head abruptly.
"What’s happening? Why is he so hot?"
She stretched out her hand to touch Tang Ye’s forehead, but the thumb from the hand that previously caressed his chest seemed stuck on something. She looked down to find that the hole in Tang Ye’s chest had disappeared without her noticing!
Her thumb was entwined in the fresh flesh of Tang Ye’s chest. She was startled and quickly pulled her hand away, bringing with it some dark purple meat. Recovering from her surprise, her face showed astonishment and joy.
Her Little Mister seemed to be alive!
Thinking about this, Ning Yu’er’s mood improved. She moved her body a little away from Tang Ye, trying her best not to bump into him. She didn’t know what was happening with Tang Ye, but she was certain that he was out of immediate danger!
Tang Ye’s body was gradually undergoing changes. Ning Yu’er was curious, but didn’t want to disturb him. So, she sat across from him, silently observing his ever-transforming body!
Time passed slowly. The immense power of the crystal Tang Ye had swallowed was slowly working to mend his shattered bones. Ning Yu’er watched Tang Ye’s neck elongate from being bent, and marveled at the sight!
This was her first time witnessing the evolution process of a zombie. Tang Ye’s entire body was in the process of transformation. It was as if an ordinary lifeform was metamorphosing into a higher-level life. The wound on Tang Ye’s broken arm was also healing. Initially, his entire arm, together with the flesh of the shoulder, had been torn off by the giant zombie. But now, his shoulder had completely healed; only his hands were left to regenerate.
"It... it’s gone?" Ning Yu’er was taken aback.She was wondering how inconvenient would it be for her Little Mister if he lost his hand. She knew he was in this situation because of her. If possible, she would trade her own life to restore Tang Ye’s hand. He shouldn’t have had to sacrifice his arm!
Ning Yu’er guiltily glanced at Tang Ye and then whispered, "I’m sorry."
As soon as her words were done, ten piercing bone spikes suddenly protruded from Tang Ye’s severed arm, and slowly began to grow.
"This....What is this?"
The ten spikes grew similar to serpents, each the thickness of a thumb! They extended until they were nearly ten meters long, fanning out and lying on the ground like a spread net. Then they began to retract, intertwining midway until they formed a white boney arm!
The tips of the spikes morphed into a single digit, forming the fingers of a very strange hand. No one could deny its lethal potential considering the chilling icy light emanating from its eerily white, sharp ends!
Seeing Tang Ye’s hand "regrow," Ning Yu’er was overjoyed. Even though the hand was peculiar, it was still better than having none. She was genuinely happy for Tang Ye!
She reached out with her hand to touch Tang Ye’s newly sprouted bone arm, but before she could make contact, Tang Ye’s other hand began to transform. The little "mouth" in the palm of his right hand opened, and the bone spur came out, its head already evolved into something that looked a lot like a mechanical claw!
It turned swiftly towards Ning Yu’er’s neck!
"Ah!" Ning Yu’er screamed, finding herself suddenly lifted off the ground.
"I... I mean, Li... Little Mister!"
The bony claw extending from Tang Ye’s palm abruptly let her go, and Ning Yu’er hit the ground hard.
"Oh, that hurts!" Rubbing her sore buttocks, Ning Yu’er shot an irritated glance at the unconscious Tang Ye.
The bony claw from Tang Ye’s right hand retracted back into his palm, and everything became calm again. However, Tang Ye did not awaken. Internal changes of a profound nature were continuing to occur within his body!
Seeing no signs of him stirring, Ning Yu’er tried to lift Tang Ye, but his body was too heavy and she, being weak, couldn’t pick him up. She gave the helpless Tang Ye a look, then went into a dorm room. After a while, she returned with several blankets and covered Tang Ye snugly!
She then sat beside Tang Ye, reaching out to touch his forehead. She noticed it was not as hot now. Looking up, she squinted into the glaring sunlight.
"What an eventful day!" Ning Yu’er sighed.
She didn’t know what had happened today. She had opened the door with good intentions only to nearly end up desecrated. Then a terrifying zombie appeared, and her Little Mister got severely injured. If it hadn’t been for Tang Ye, she probably would have become a mindless zombie by now.
She looked at Tang Ye’s serene face and softly said, "Thank you, Little Mister."
It seemed as if he heard her voice, the thumb of Tang Ye’s newly sprouted bone hand twitched slightly.
Time passed quickly. Ning Yu’er sat by Tang Ye’s side, watching the sun completely set behind the western mountains. The surroundings grew dark, and she closed her tired eyes, falling asleep against Tang Ye’s shoulder!
Tang Ye’s eyes abruptly opened, a vicious light flashed in his whites before it calmed down again.
Tang Ye felt his body and sensed the explosive energy within him. If he were to encounter that damned giant zombie now, he thought he could probably take on two of them!
"And my hand... It’s restored!"
Delighted, Tang Ye was eager to jump up and test his peculiar arm formed of bone. But he noticed a maiden leaning on his right shoulder.
Tang Ye laughed, his sinister chuckle echoing around. He gently wrapped his right arm around Ning Yu’er’s slender waist. Then the bone-formed hand on his left arm instantly split into ten long spikes. Tang Ye controlled them to coil around a pillar in the front.
With a quick tug on his bony spikes, Tang Ye, holding Ning Yu’er, stood upright. He glanced at the several blankets on the ground that had earlier warmed his body, then with a smile, turned to look at Ning Yu’er in his arms, thinking to himself, "What a silly girl!"
Zombies don’t get cold, why cover me with so many blankets?
Carrying Ning Yu’er, Tang Ye headed towards the dorm room where they had been sleeping. He gently laid her on the bed, then walked towards the door.
"Little Mister! You... you’re awake? I’m... I’m sorry~"
Ning Yu’er woke up abruptly, apologised to him guiltily, then lowered her head.
PS: Whimper, I just bought a tablet and after just a month, I accidentally shattered the screen. I’m so upset!
