"What you mean is..." Felix Shaw hesitated as he looked at Mia Foster. Regarding Felix’s way of thinking, Mia really had nothing good to say. Impatiently, she pulled open the car door and said, "Hurry up and get out."
Whether there was a "mastermind" behind this or not, she had to meet this woman. Otherwise, with Felix’s intelligence, he would probably cheerfully accept fatherhood without even understanding the situation.
The two stood in front of the apartment building, pressed the doorbell, and with a beep, the building door opened. Mia Foster entered first, and Felix followed her in.
In front of a residential door on the fifth floor, Frances was already waiting at the door handle.
Seeing Felix climb the final flight of stairs, she nervously started, "You’re here,"
Felix responded indifferently with a "hmm" and grasped Mia Foster’s wrist. Frances slightly moved aside to let the two enter the house.
Standing in the doorway, Mia instinctively glanced around and asked, "Should I change my shoes?"
Frances stealthily glanced at Felix and with her head still lowered as if she dared not meet anyone’s gaze, said, "Oh, no need, just come in with your shoes on. I’m going to clean in the morning anyway."
Mia couldn’t be bothered to change either and strolled into the living room with her high heels on. Only when she stood in the center did she turn her head to look at Frances, "Miss Frances, I believe we have something to discuss."

Though it was Frances’s domain, Mia took charge. Seeing Frances sit down in a corner of the sofa, Mia then looked at Felix who was still standing in the entryway, "Come here."
Felix slowly walked over and took a spot beside Mia. The living room was small with only one sofa. Mia pulled him to the inside and they both sat down on the sofa, with her facing Frances and Felix sitting behind her.
"Speak up, what are your conditions."
Mia got straight to the point. Frances seemed not to expect such directness. All the responses she had prepared in advance now seemed useless. She pursed her lips and looked at Mia with a stammer, "I want to...keep the child..."
Before she could say more, her words were abruptly cut off by Felix’s cold interjection, "Get rid of it!"
The sudden and somewhat loud exclamation made Frances visibly flinch. Mia turned around, glaring impatiently at him, and the words he was about to say were stuck in his throat.
Turning back to Frances, Mia lifted her chin and pointed at the slight bulge below Frances’s nightgown with a mockingly smile, "Miss Frances, are you sure that the baby in your stomach is Felix’s?"
Frances defensively cradled her stomach as an emotion swiftly crossed her eyes, "What are you... implying?"
"Oh, nothing in particular, just wanting to confirm,"
Mia smiled harmlessly, but the arched eyebrow revealed a sense of distrust.
"Yes, it’s Felix’s," Frances glanced past her at Felix, "I just found out I was pregnant myself, which is why I called Felix."
Watching her clearly lacking confidence, Mia didn’t point out the obvious. Discovering one’s pregnancy three months in? Such an excuse was unlikely to be believed even by a primary school student.
Since she had already taken the initiative to come here, it seemed somewhat inconsiderate not to let her finish her act.
"Then what?"
Those three indifferent words, the mockingly smile on Mia’s face was devoid of excessive emotions. It was as if the child in the woman’s stomach wasn’t her fiancé’s. At this moment, she resembled a calm negotiator.
"Huh?" Frances hadn’t expected Mia to be so composed. There were no scenes of hysterics as she had anticipated, no melodramatic tactics of a wife dealing with a mistress. She watched her calmly and collectedly, and for a moment, Frances was the one who seemed slow to react.
