It took him a good while to recover from the shocking news. Finally, he let out a long breath and when he looked at Rong Yan again, he was noticeably calmer.
“You… you could consider this a blessing in disguise.”
A blessing in disguise? Rong Yan rested her chin on her hand, her gaze empty. If Rong Nanfeng knew that she hadn’t planned to use Little Baby to climb up to Li Shengxiao, would he still think she was blessed? Probably, he would be frustrated by her lack of initiative, considering her as mud that cannot be propped up against a wall, wasting a good opportunity.
Moreover, during the five years abroad, the hardships she endured were real. If she hadn’t interacted with Li Shengxiao after coming back, for Rong Nanfeng, her very existence would still be a disgrace.

Instinctively, Li Duidui looked towards Rong Yan, as if waiting for her cue. If Rong Yan told him to call, he would do so; if she didn’t, he wouldn’t.

Rong Yan’s eyes shone brightly as she looked at him, “If the man from five years ago had been Huang Youde instead of Li Shengxiao, would you still have said the same thing to me after receiving the recording today, Mr. Rong?”
The question was too sharp and too blunt.
Rong Nanfeng’s face changed in an instant at the question, and just as he was about to get angry, he had to admit to himself that he couldn’t give a definitive answer.
