Hearing this, Shen Heyu slowly realized that Shao You wasn’t struggling with Pei Yansi over business, nor had he kidnapped her and her daughter for that reason.
It was simply for the sake of Bai Sheng’er alone.
With that thought, she lifted her head to look at Shao You and asked, “What’s your relationship with her?”
“What’s your relationship with Pei Yansi? That’s what my relationship with Bai Sheng’er Qiu is.”
He had just finished speaking when someone knocked on the door. Shao You personally went to open it and saw it was his assistant, bringing Yuexue along.
Seeing Yuexue, he turned his head and gave Shen Heyu a meaningful smile. “What to do now? Both you and she are in my hands.”
As he spoke, he grabbed Yuexue by the neck and yanked her into the room.
His strength was immense; Yuexue couldn’t struggle free, crying out in pain. The moment she was brought in, she plunged into Shen Heyu’s arms, crying and shouting, “Mommy, they are the bad guys… Wuu wuu…”
Yuexue’s cries were like thousands of needles piercing Shen Heyu’s heart, causing her chest to ache with pain.
She hugged her daughter in her arms, softly comforting her, “Don’t be afraid, Yuexue, mommy’s here.”

Her voice was laced with ferocity, each word dripping with threat.

“This is Pei Yan’s fault, not yours.” Shen Heyu said with righteous indignation. “You shouldn’t be making things difficult for Yuexue and me.”
Bai Sheng’er huffed coldly,
“I don’t have such high moral standards. Aren’t you and Pei Yan essentially the same?”
Shao You glanced at the time, impatiently saying, “Hurry up, woman, I don’t have all day to waste on you.”
If time dragged on and Pei Yan found out, coming over prematurely, all his efforts today would be for naught.
Most importantly, his resort was currently under scrutiny. If Pei Yan arrived with the police, his career would be over.
Thinking this, he became somewhat desperate and crazed, reaching for a fruit knife on the coffee table and, knife in hand, walked towards Shen Heyu.

She could endure temporary humiliation but would never allow herself and her daughter to fall into danger.
Shao You, hearing her say this, finally looked satisfied.
He felt the dagger was handy and gripped it in his hand, approaching Shen Heyu and tapping her cheek with it.
“Smart of you. Now get on your knees and apologize to Bai Sheng’er.”
The dagger’s cold touch on her cheek was piercingly chilling.
Shen Heyu herself shuddered at the sensation.
She glanced at Bai Sheng’er, sitting in a higher position, and bit down hard on her teeth, forcing herself not to care so much. After all, humiliation meant nothing compared to death.
Just as she was about to kneel, she suddenly heard the sound of police sirens from outside.
Everyone in the room was taken aback.
Especially Shao You, his face betraying a distinct panic as he quickly walked to the window and pulled back the curtains to look down, indeed seeing rows of police cars parked below.

She quickly pushed her daughter away, not wanting her to be involved in this violent struggle.
Yuexue was pushed a good distance away, slamming hard against the wall, crying vociferously from the pain. When she looked up and saw her mother still in the grasp of the criminal, she felt even more panicked.
Crawling on the ground, she tried to get closer to Shen Heyu, crying out, “Mom… Mommy!”
“Don’t come here!” Seeing her crawling towards her, Shen Heyu shouted, “Stay where you are!”
She saw Shao You’s state and knew an accident was very likely.
She dared not let her daughter come any closer.
Fortunately, Yuexue had always been obedient, especially now as she heard the firm severity in her mother’s voice.
So she stayed frozen in place, simply crying.
Bai Sheng’er also heard the police sirens from below and wanted to stand up, but her blindness left her confused and stationary.
Shao You, worried about the turn of events, grabbed Shen Heyu by the collar and pressed the dagger against her carotid artery.
He snarled, “Get up for me!”
He needed her as a hostage.

Shao You knew that they had come up.
