Chapter 110: Chapter 110 Your Thoughts Are Dangerous
Wu Houhai scratched his head and vividly recounted the cafeteria incident. By the end, Xu Qigang’s face had turned stormy, his expression extremely unsightly.
“Uh… Liu Chun couldn’t really have been talking nonsense, right?”
A piercing look from Xu Qigang shot over, commanding, “Now get back to your first division.”
“Yes, Captain, I’m on it right now.” Wu Houhai bolted away.
On the elite training ground, after their initial shock, embarrassment, and hesitancy, the female comrades widened their eyes and stood outside the field to cheer for their comrades who were in training.
Sheng Ning, tall and slender, stood on the edge. She turned her head and saw Xu Qigang had appeared behind her at some point, standing less than ten meters away.
And there was Liu Chun, head lowered like a little wife, murmuring something incoherently.
Xu Qigang’s icy gaze swept over her, catching Sheng Ning off guard and piercing right through to the bottom of her eyes. She shyly lowered her head, heart racing uncontrollably.
“Captain, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have stirred up trouble everywhere.” Liu Chun hardly dared to breathe, for fear that the Captain would punish him with a twenty-kilometer weighted cross-country run.
“Where were you wrong?”
“I shouldn’t have spoken out, even if Sheng Ning is your fiancée from back home.” Liu Chun didn’t dare to look at his face, and so missed the satisfied smile that suddenly appeared on Xu Qigang’s stern face.
His gaze was intense as he looked at the girl in front of him, though a thought suddenly crossed his mind and his brows briefly furrowed.
There were more than a thousand on the training field, all shirtless!
How long had she been watching? Just standing here, gazing at other men’s chests?
Suddenly, Xu Qigang felt a wave of displeasure in his heart, and even the look he gave Dai Bin turned fierce.
He knew it, Dai Bin was incompetent at leading!
Sheng Ning sneaked a glance at Xu Qigang and quickly turned back, though her heart had fallen behind him.
And with his towering stature and imposing aura, he was hard to ignore even if she wanted to.
Unable to help herself, Sheng Ning snuck another look back, only to find Xu Qigang waving at her. She pointed at herself, a bit in disbelief, wondering if her eyes were deceiving her.
Xu Qigang, running out of patience, waved again, his gesture like calling to a beloved pet.
Sheng Ning’s heart tightened, and she hesitated briefly before turning and walking over without a sound.
“Captain Xu, is there anything else you would like me to do?” She tried to arrange her features into a look of pure professionalism.
Xu Qigang’s piercing eyes seemed to scorch whatever they touched, seeming to burn through to a hole. He looked Sheng Ning up and down, his stern expression unchanging, and asked in a deep voice, “Are you recovered?”
Sheng Ning hesitated, then deliberately said, “Not completely!”
Xu Qigang’s brows nearly knotted into a mountain as he thought for a second before saying, “Then you should continue to take leave.”
“Captain, are you abusing your power to take care of me?” Sheng Ning surged forward, her delicate red lips mere inches from his strong jaw.
Xu Qigang’s breath hitched, his hand at his side suddenly balling into a fist.
“Why aren’t you saying anything, Captain?” Sheng Ning blinked her sparkling eyes curiously at him.
A trace of suspicious red crept onto the handsome face of Xu Qigang, thankfully his tan skin concealed it well – otherwise, it would have been a blow to his reputation as the Living Yama.
After a long moment, he cleared his throat unnaturally, “Cough… Comrade Sheng Ning, your thoughts are very dangerous.”
“Captain, you’ve held me twice, isn’t that more dangerous?” Others might fear him as the Living Yama, but she certainly didn’t! She just had to make sure he never found out she was pretending to be his fiancée! Even though it was Liu Chun who had tricked her into it, she still couldn’t let him find out.
