She had come to believe that what Carson Flores had said was true—it was a matter easily verified, after all.
The Water-Fire Mirror that Carson Flores offered to the Cave Master, who then returned it to Carson Flores, signified the Cave Master’s recognition of Carson’s ownership of the Water-Fire Mirror. Yet she herself had intended to kill Carson and steal the Water-Fire Mirror!
Isabel Reid’s head buzzed, a dizzy feeling faintly creeping up on her.
The Cave Master usually secluded himself and didn’t handle affairs, but that didn’t mean he lacked authority.
Nobody could match the Cave Master’s authority!

The Cave Master didn’t need any reason to kill someone.
In Nutwood Heavenly Cave, the Cave Master was the supreme ruler, governing everything within, including the lives of all.
Even the four Sect Masters had to be extremely careful in front of the Cave Master, fearful of misspeaking, fearful of arousing the Cave Master’s anger, inviting a disaster upon themselves.
If the mighty Sect Masters were , her status as a Nascent Soul elder was nothing.
Isabel Reid had already thought about turning around and walking away, but under the watchful eyes of all present, leaving in such a manner would be a complete loss of face.
Isabel Reid clenched her teeth and said, "Even if you are Cameron Hunter’s junior martial sibling, you still have to be reasonable. You’ve destroyed my disciple’s cultivation; you must give some kind of explanation. Otherwise, in the future, won’t you simply exterminate whomever you please?"
Carson Flores laughed.
Isabel Reid had obviously lost her nerve, but for the sake of saving face, she refused to back down, insisting on some form of explanation.
Carson Flores sneered, "Why don’t you ask your daughter about the whole story first? She knew full well that a beast comparable to a Nascent Soul, the Snow Dragon Leopard King, was in a cave in the Secret Realm. Yet, she deceived me into believing it was just a Snow Dragon Leopard, convincing me to lure it away so she could harvest the herbs by the cave’s entrance and then share them with me..."
At this point, the number of onlookers, Cultivators, had grown even more, and their eyes fell upon Katherine Reid as they heard what Carson had said.
Was this woman actually so malicious?
Setting a trap for someone else to die?
Katherine Reid’s face turned pale as she uncontrollably shivered again, her eyes filled with terror.
When Carson Flores revealed his identity, and his connection to Delaney Hunter and the Cave Master, Katherine Reid finally realized she had kicked an iron plate too hard to dent!
Carson Flores continued, "If the Snow Dragon Leopard King hadn’t been injured earlier and didn’t attack me directly, I probably would have died then and there. Since she intentionally set me up, if I was going to die, I would naturally bring the Snow Dragon Leopard King with me to share her fate."
"However, I was lucky. After seeing you all, the Snow Dragon Leopard King turned to chase after you, and that’s how I got my life back. When you saw that I returned safely, one plan having failed, you concocted another, bringing Russell Combs here to trouble me. You never mentioned setting me up, only that your brother died—so you wanted to cripple me, make me live a life worse than death, filled with regret for the rest of my life."
"Had I been a tad weaker, I would probably have ended up crippled like him, suffering humiliation at the hands of both of you. What’s wrong with me crippling someone like that!"
"Isabel Reid, you arrive, not asking about the cause and effect, and immediately try to kill me. If I hadn’t had the Water-Fire Mirror, you would have crippled me with a single strike. After discovering I had the Water-Fire Mirror, you coveted it and wanted to kill me even more. And now, you stand before me asking for an explanation. Don’t you think you should ask yourself first—your daughter, your disciple, including your own actions, do you have the right to demand an explanation from me?"
Isabel Reid’s face turned a patchwork of green and red; she was, after all, an elder of the Heavenly Phenomenon Sect, a Nascent Soul Powerhouse, yet being scolded by a junior at the Golden Core Initial Stage was mortifying, especially with at least a few hundred Cultivators looking on. She felt as if she had lost all her dignity.
She would probably become a complete joke for the next few hundred years!
Isabel Reid clenched her fists tight; she wanted to rage, she wanted to strike out, but... she dared not!
She couldn’t take on not just the Cave Master, but Delaney Hunter, that madwoman!
Though Delaney Hunter, too, was of Nascent Soul Strength, she could fight on equal footing with the Sect Masters of the Divinity Transformation Stage. She could handle herself as easily against him as if she were merely drinking water.

Katherine Reid, standing next to Isabel Reid, trembled like a sieve. Her greatest pillar of strength was being scolded like a dog by someone without the courage to retort.
She faintly felt that she was about to face misfortune.
Russell Combs, bloody on the ground, had eyes filled with despair, his face spelled doom. Turning his head towards Katherine Reid, his gaze was thick with resentment.
It was all because of this woman!
If not for her, how could his brother have died, how could he have sought revenge against Carson Flores, how could he have ended up ?
"Katherine Reid, you maniac! Bitch, why don’t you just die!"
As Katherine Reid turned her head towards Russell Combs, wanting to say something, Isabel Reid had already turned around abruptly, her face livid with rage as she landed a heavy slap across Katherine’s face.
The slap was heavy; Katherine Reid’s face swelled up instantly. She lifted her head in shock, exclaiming, "Dad?"
