There was a tinge of jealousy in his voice, and even his raised brows carried a bit of mischief. The usually gentle and calm man acted like a child throwing a tantrum when drunk.
It seems that every man has a child living inside him. He showed it so openly in front of Ji Niandong, who didn’t mind his nonsense. Ignoring that person’s name, she replied with a hint of a smile, "Not everyone acts like a lord when they’re drunk!"
"So, you’re saying no?" He leaned over, pulled her into his arms, and asked with his head tilted, "Serving me so diligently, does it mean you’re in love with me?"
His voice was even more low and pleasant, yet he just clung to her like a rascal.
The initial nervousness of moving in together suddenly eased away, and it just felt light and warm.
Ji Niandong took a breath and patiently asked, "Little Uncle, do you want to go back to the room to rest?"
She helped him up and led him to the room. As the lights turned on one by one, the house was instantly filled with the feeling of life.
Lu Beichen reached to press his temples; his tightly furrowed brows looked slightly uncomfortable. Ji Niandong stretched her fingers in front of him and made an ’OK’ gesture, asking, "How many fingers?"
"3!" His hand still massaging his temples, but his mouth curled up into a smile.
"So you weren’t drunk!" Ji Niandong murmured softly, letting go of his hand, her face starting to blush.
Lu Beichen stopped fooling around, sat on the bed with a hand supporting his head, and explained slightly, "I drank a little too much out of happiness; now my head hurts again!"
While chatting with her during the meal, he drank one glass after another, scarcely stopping, and barely touched his food, having drunk pretty much on an empty stomach.
Ji Niandong did remind him once, but he just smiled at her and said he was happy!
Ever since she agreed to marry him, he indeed had always been very happy.

Ji Niandong finally felt assured and asked, "Do we have any hangover medicine at home?"

With him staring at her, Ji Niandong’s eyes immediately darted elsewhere, "Then go take a hot shower. I’ll check the fridge for something to fill your stomach; it’ll help!"
She released him and quickly ran towards the living room!
Watching her retreating figure, Lu Beichen couldn’t help but smile. He took a whiff of the alcohol on himself and turned to the bathroom.
