Han Xi looked at Lu Jinghan, who had already hung up the phone, and spoke like a little lazy cat: "I’m hungry, it’s already noon. Take me out for something delicious."
Lu Jinghan helplessly pinched the bridge of his nose. He had originally thought of continuing that unfinished kiss, but remembering that Han Xi hadn’t eaten in the morning, he worried she might feel pain if she didn’t eat lunch on time.
"Sure, what do you want to eat?"
Han Xi thought for a moment and sweetly replied, "As long as I’m with Mr. Lu, I’m happy to eat anything."
Lu Jinghan smiled at the corners of his mouth. His Mrs. Lu was getting better at sweet talk, how adorable.
Lu Jinghan held Han Xi’s hand and walked toward the office door, whispering as they walked, "I can’t help but want to eat you right now."
Han Xi blushed, looking up at him: "Lu Jinghan, I’ve realized you’re a total pervert."
"Don’t worry, in this lifetime, I’m only perverted for you."
The black Maybach stopped at a newly opened seafood restaurant. After the two ordered, Lu Jinghan went to the restroom, and upon returning, he saw Feng Yi and Fu Bin sitting across from Han Xi.
He returned to his seat with a darkened face; his good two-person world was ruined by these two guys.
"With so many restaurants in An City, why did you have to come here to eat?" Lu Jinghan asked as he poured Han Xi a glass of orange juice and looked up at them.
Fu Bin lazily curled his lips, his exceptionally charming peach blossom eyes looking towards Han Xi: "Little Sister-in-law, you wouldn’t mind us joining you, would you?"
Han Xi gave him a faint smile: "I don’t mind."
Even if she minded, she couldn’t really say it out loud, right?
Feng Yi, beside her, laughed cheerfully at Lu Jinghan: "I called you earlier to say we were coming here for lunch, but before I could finish, you hung up. What were you busy with?"
Hearing this, Han Xi’s face turned a bit red, and she tugged at Lu Jinghan’s clothes under the table.
Lu Jinghan glared at Feng Yi, for the first time finding this guy to be quite oblivious: "Do I have to report everything I do to you?"
"I was just casually asking, if it’s really inconvenient then don’t say it."
Feng Yi was doing it on purpose. After all, Lu Jinghan had hung up on him, and if it was inconvenient, then he just shouldn’t ask further.
Now Han Xi’s face turned even redder, she felt Feng Yi must have guessed.
Lu Jinghan was peeling shrimp for Han Xi, not even lifting his head: "The United States is short-handed, you don’t have to return to the company this afternoon, just pack your bags and head to the airport."
Feng Yi was completely dumbfounded, feeling as if he’d been struck by lightning. It took him a few seconds to recover and protest: "Don’t joke around, I’m not going, not even if you beat me to death."
Next time, he won’t just blurt things out, will he?
Lu Jinghan placed the peeled shrimp on Han Xi’s plate, lifted his head, and with a deep gaze tinged with a warning said: "If you dare refuse a personnel assignment directly from the boss, if you really don’t want to go, I won’t force you. Then I’ll just dock three months of your salary; otherwise, how will I maintain authority to manage others in the company?"
Fu Bin watched Feng Yi with a look of schadenfreude, smiling delightfully.
Knowing that Lu Jinghan holds Han Xi dearly and still daring to joke about her, it’s unclear whether this guy is overly brave or just short-circuited in the brain.
What else could Feng Yi say, but admit defeat graciously, and for the entire meal, he ate as if chewing wax, utterly tasteless.
