After dinner, Lu Jinghan drove Han Xi to the hospital before returning to the company.
In the afternoon, after finishing work, Han Xi called Sister Zhang, asking her to make dinner for two and deliver it to the hospital.
After hanging up the phone, Sister Zhang began preparing the ingredients and delivered the dinner to the hospital before seven in the evening.
Han Xi carried the two thermoses that Sister Zhang had delivered to Li Chenghao’s ward. When she entered, only Li Chenghao was there; Han Siyu was nowhere to be found.
Seeing Han Xi arrive, Li Chenghao’s pale face showed a smile, "Xiao Xi, you’re here."
Han Xi placed the thermos next to the bed on the table and looked up to ask, "Where’s my sister? Why isn’t she here to keep you company?"
"She had something to do and left," Li Chenghao said casually, not wanting to mention Han Siyu. He turned his head to look at the thermos on the table, "Is this the dinner you brought for me?"
"Yes, I asked the housekeeper to prepare it. Wait for my sister to come back and have her feed you."
Li Chenghao had just undergone surgery and basically couldn’t move; the wound on his abdomen was too deep, and even the slightest movement would cause intense pain.
"Xiao Xi, I’m very hungry; I want to eat now." Actually, Li Chenghao wasn’t that hungry, he just wanted Han Xi to feed him personally.
Han Xi looked at him, her face calm without any emotion, "My sister should..."
Before Han Xi finished speaking, Li Chenghao interjected, "Xiao Xi, don’t refuse me; at least we are still friends, and besides, I’m really hungry."
Given Li Chenghao’s words, if Han Xi refused, it would seem a bit pretentious. She smiled faintly, took her hand out of the pocket of the white coat, opened the thermos, filled a bowl with soup, and sat down on a chair beside the bed.
Under the warm light, Han Xi’s dense lashes fell, casting a shadow on her fair skin; the steam from the bowl rose, enveloping her delicate features. She scooped up a spoonful of soup, blew it cool, and brought it to Li Chenghao’s lips.
Back when they were still together, whenever Li Chenghao was sick, Han Xi would take care of him like she did now.
Li Chenghao opened his mouth, sipped the soup from the spoon, but there was a sour bitterness in his deep eyes.
At the glass window by the door, a pair of eyes were watching the scene inside the ward with a scarlet jealousy, Han Siyu’s hands hanging by her sides clenched into fists, unaware that her nails were digging into the flesh.
A few hours ago, she had righteously claimed in front of Han Xi that she was over it, that she had moved on.
Then what does this mean now?
Ambiguity? Or still wanting to refuse while welcoming him?
Han Siyu suppressed the volcanic jealousy in her heart, put on a pleasant smile, and pushed the door open, "Xiao Xi, when did you come over?"
Han Xi stood up from the chair, placed the bowl on the table, and smiled, "Just arrived awhile ago. I had the housekeeper make dinner for you. Since you’re back, I’ll head home now."
Han Siyu placed the bag with the change of clothes on the sofa, her dark eyes discreetly glanced at Li Chenghao, "Is Lu Jinghan coming to pick you up?"
Han Xi glanced at the watch on her wrist, "Yes, he should be here by now. I’m leaving."
"Okay, drive safely on your way home." Han Siyu escorted Han Xi to the ward’s door, holding Han Xi’s hand, she said with a full of apology, "Xiao Xi, about this morning, I didn’t control my emotions well, please don’t be mad."
