Han Xi blushed and glanced towards the kitchen: "Sister Zhang and the others are still there."
"Let’s go back to the room." With those words, Lu Jinghan stood up and lifted Han Xi into his arms, striding towards the stairs.
Pushing open the bedroom door, Lu Jinghan pressed Han Xi against the wall, his fiery kisses completely occupying the girl’s every breath.
Han Xi, lost in emotion, clutched Lu Jinghan’s collar, their tongues intertwining, as they kissed and stumbled towards the bed.
Since Han Xi became pregnant, Lu Jinghan had been living a life of restraint. Even on the rare occasions they were together, he didn’t dare to do as he pleased like before, fearing he might hurt Little Bun.
After over ten minutes of entanglement, Lu Jinghan carried Han Xi to the bathroom for a shower. Seeing the scattered marks on the girl’s body brought a deep smile to his lips.
Han Xi blushed as she put on her loungewear and quickly walked out of the bathroom.
Having finished his shower, Lu Jinghan came out as well. He took a set of navy blue cotton loungewear from the wardrobe and put it on, his thick short hair still dripping water.
Han Xi walked up to Lu Jinghan with a towel, tiptoeing to help dry his hair: "Chu Ci called just now and said she wants to invite us all to dinner tonight. She and Fu Bin are going back to their hometown tomorrow, and will return after the New Year."
Lu Jinghan let Han Xi dry his hair, his deep eyes seemingly filled with starlight: "The two of them are going to Chu Ci’s parents’ house for the New Year?"
"Yes, Chu Ci originally wanted to go back by herself, but Fu Bin insisted on going with her as he was worried."
Chu Ci’s parents always lived in their hometown. Chu Ci had long ago suggested they move to live with her, but the elderly couple said they were used to staying in their hometown and were uncomfortable in unfamiliar big cities.
Lu Jinghan leaned in to hug Han Xi’s waist, his forehead lightly touching hers: "Then you go take a nap first; once you wake up, we’ll head over."
"Okay." Han Xi smiled and kissed Lu Jinghan’s thin lips, placed the towel back in the bathroom, and went to lie down on the bed.
Watching the girl fall asleep, Lu Jinghan went to the study to handle documents.
It was only as dusk fell that Lu Jinghan finished all the documents. He raised his hand to massage his brow, picked up a pack of cigarettes from the desk, lit one, and took a few puffs before stubbing it out in the ashtray. Then he got up and headed to the bedroom, pushing the door open just as Han Xi was waking up.
Lu Jinghan walked over to the bedside and sat down, reaching out to turn on the lamp on the nightstand. The warm orange light made it hard for Han Xi to open her eyes, and she instinctively used her hand to shield against the light.
The light cast a glow on Han Xi, making the newly woken her look even more alluring. Lu Jinghan couldn’t help but bend down to kiss the girl’s lips.
Han Xi’s eyelashes fluttered slightly, and she had yet to react...
A few minutes later, Han Xi was breathlessly leaning against Lu Jinghan’s shoulder, like a stranded fish released back into the sea.
"Hurry and freshen up."
Lu Jinghan affectionately nuzzled Han Xi’s chin, his voice so tender it could drown someone.
Han Xi nodded, lifted the quilt, got off the bed, and headed straight to the bathroom. After freshening up, she sat at the vanity to apply light makeup.
Lu Jinghan walked to the wardrobe, took out a set of clothes, placed them on the bed, and unbuttoned the top of his loungewear: "Fu Bin just sent the address; we can head straight there."
