Mia Ginger has a weak constitution.
Reaching East Peak was already her limit.
After watching the sunrise, the two didn’t linger on the mountain but took the cable car down.
As soon as they stepped outside, her legs gave way, almost causing her to kneel on the ground.
Koa Jackson steadied her with one hand and bent down to ask, "What’s wrong? Are your legs numb?"
"My legs are weak," Mia said, her legs completely powerless. She tightly gripped his hand and looked up, saying, "I feel like I can’t walk anymore. Why don’t we rest for a while before we go?"
Koa glanced at her briefly, then bent down and scooped her up in his arms.
Mia was thin and light, resting in his arms like a tired little butterfly.
Koa slightly furrowed his brows, seeing how utterly exhausted she was. Without saying a word, he walked towards the parking area.
A sleepless night naturally brought some drowsiness.
But the soreness from the hike would last a few days at the very least.
Rather than wasting time resting at the foot of the mountain, it was better to go home.
After a brief consideration, Koa opened the passenger door and gently placed Mia inside.
He buckled her seatbelt.
Then he went around to the other side and started the car.
Soon, the two of them left the scenic area and merged onto the highway.
Mia leaned against the passenger seat, drowsy.
Koa glanced at her several times, feeling a pang of concern, and asked gently, "Are you very sleepy? Lower the seat a bit and take a nap. I’ll wake you when we arrive."
"Where are we going?"
"..." Koa paused briefly, "Cloudy Capital."
A whole night without rest, combined with the tough hike—this girl was certainly both tired and hungry now.
He had to take full responsibility.
Clearly, Mia was looking forward to this as well.
She smiled warmly and nodded, "Alright. I’ll sleep then."
"Sleep," Koa replied, truly helpless.
He had intended to avoid them getting too close by taking her hiking on a whim, but now, after all this trouble, they still had to return to Cloudy Capital.
As he thought this, he recalled the night just past.
Soon, he dismissed his earlier thoughts.
He focused on driving.
At one in the afternoon.
The two arrived at Cloudy Capital.
Aunt Lee and others had returned to the mansion, making the entire villa seem empty.
Mia was in a half-awake, utterly dazed state, like a lazy, obedient cat.
Holding her, Koa carried her to her room, and she tightly wrapped her slender arms around his neck, snuggling into his embrace and clinging to him.
Koa turned the door handle to her room. She glanced around, then buried her face in his chest, protesting and pouting, "No, I don’t want to sleep here alone."
"Take a nap," Koa said, kissing her forehead tenderly and coaxing, "When you wake up, I’ll cook for you?"
"But I want to sleep with you," Mia complained, pouting. As she saw him pause, she somehow mustered strength and jumped out of his arms, making her way to Koa’s room by herself.
Koa was simply defeated by her.
He followed her quickly, and she was already out of her shoes, lying in his bed, fast asleep.
No change of clothes?
Koa paused for a moment, resigned, and walked over.
Mia was already asleep, her head tilted.
She was quite something.
He couldn’t bear to wake her, so he stood by the bed, deep in thought for a moment, took a shower, and went to lie on the sofa outside.
The time was short, not even three hours.
